2024 could be one of the best seasons of Formula 1 in history, with multiple teams fighting for both championships. Off the track, the team principals are preparing for the long season ahead, but how is F1 Manager 2024 shaping up?

F1 Manager 2024 will feature a host of exciting new features requested by the community. So with that in mind, here’s everything we know about F1 Manager 2024 so far!

Latest news - F1 Manager 2024 release date revealed and hands-on preview

As part of a recent hands-on preview event, Frontier has revealed the release date for F1 Manager 2024. F1 Manager 2024 will arrive in the paddock on July 23 on PC and consoles, meaning the game is just over two months away from launch.

This will see the game launch in the same week as the 2024 Belgian Grand Prix, just in time for the F1 summer break. Preorders for F1 Manager 2024 are now open, so don't miss out when the paddock gates open.

Hands-on preview

We've been hands-on with F1 Manager 2024's new Create a Team mode, and it's a complete game changer for the series. Find out why in our hands-on preview here.

Custom teams

F1 Manager was officially revealed with the heavily fan-requested feature finally coming to the grid. After two years of fans asking for custom teams, Frontier has announced they will be in F1 Manager 2024.

Now team principals can form their own teams, design their own cars (including custom liveries), and sign their dream driver lineup in the new Create a Team mode. Staff members will also need to be hired, but don't get too comfortable as F1 Manager 2024 also brings the risk of drivers and staff being poached by other teams.

Release date

After a summer launch was predicted, the release date for F1 Manager 2024 has now been officially confirmed. The game will launch on July 23, just in time for the F1 summer break.

This date coincides with F1 Manager 2024's predecessors. Both F1 Manager 2022 and F1 Manager 2023 launched on the same weekend as that year’s Belgian Grand Prix. 2024 sees F1 head to Spa on 26-28 July, F1 Manager 2024 launches just before the paddock heads to Spa.

True race management

If hitting the track in Codemasters’ F1 series isn’t for you, but you still have an interest in the sport, then F1 Manager 2024 is the game you need.

Putting you in the shoes of a Formula 1 team principal, F1 Manager is the officially licensed F1 management series, with licensed teams, cars, drivers, and even staff members. This also stretches to the Formula 2 and Formula 3 support series, with both consisting of the full roster of teams and drivers.

F1 Manager 2023

F1 Manager 2023 added the new Race Moments and Scenarios. Race Moments gave players a chance to rewrite F1 history throughout the 2023 season, changing the results in favor of their favorite drivers or just stopping Max Verstappen from winning yet again.

Scenarios created a series of ‘what if’ events, where unlikely moments became a reality. From Haas scoring high in Las Vegas, to Williams winning at Spa, Scenarios are the perfect fantasy F1 fiction for players to get stuck into.

With F1 Manager 2023 improving on F1 Manager 2022, let’s take a look at what we can expect from F1 Manager 2024!

Unchanged lineup

For the first time in the history of Formula 1, the driver lineup for every team remains unchanged from 2023. All 20 drivers remain on the grid for 2024, so we’ll be looking at an unchanged lineup as far as the drivers are concerned.

The same can’t be said for the teams, however. With expiring sponsorships and rebranding of existing names, we’re looking at multiple new team names for 2024.

Aston Martin has dropped Cognizant from their name, with the Silverstone-based team now known as Aston Martin Aramco. Elsewhere, Alfa Romeo is no more, with the Sauber team already rebranding twice in 2024, first as Stake F1 Team and now just Sauber F1 Team.

We also have AlphaTauri, Red Bull's sister team, undergoing a radical rebranding for 2024. It may take some time for us to get used to calling the Italian team Visa Cash App Racing Bulls, or VCARB for short.

Here’s the full list of 2024 teams and drivers we expect to see in F1 Manager 2024:

  • Red Bull: Max Verstappen & Sergio Perez
  • Mercedes: Lewis Hamilton & George Russell
  • Ferrari: Charles Lecerlc & Carlos Sainz
  • McLaren: Lando Norris & Oscar Piastri
  • Aston Martin: Fernando Alonso & Lance Stroll
  • Alpine: Pierre Gasly & Esteban Ocon
  • Williams: Alex Albon & Logan Sargeant
  • VCARB: Yuki Tsunoda & Daniel Ricciardo
  • Sauber F1: Valtteri Bottas & Zhou Guanyu
  • Haas: Nico Hulkenberg & Kevin Magnussen

Circuits

There are also minimal changes when it comes to the tracks appearing in F1 Manager 2024. The only track change sees the Shanghai International Circuit make its F1 Manager debut, after two false starts in 2022 and 2023.

New 2023 tracks Losail International Circuit and the Las Vegas Street Circuit are remaining on the calendar, with Las Vegas expected to be in the game from launch this year. The 2024 calendar is still seeing some radical changes, however.

In order to cut down on long travel distances between races, the 2024 F1 calendar has been adjusted to ‘localize’ more of the races.

The biggest change in this regard sees the Japanese Grand Prix moved from its usual Autumn slot to the Spring to fit between the Australian and Chinese Grand Prix. This could mean a fully dry race weekend in Japan, arguably detracting from what makes Suzuka so special.

The Marina Bay Street Circuit in Singapore will also revert to its regular configuration after building works forced a layout change for 2023. Other tracks may receive minor layout tweaks ahead of the 2024 season, but we’ve yet to hear any official news on this.

With all that in mind, here is the full 2024 F1 calendar in F1 Manager 2024:

  1. Bahrain: Bahrain International Circuit, Sakhir
  2. Saudi Arabia: Jeddah Corniche Circuit, Jeddah
  3. Australia: Albert Park, Melbourne

Platforms

F1 Manager 2023 was available on both current-gen and last-gen platforms, and the same is true for this year's game. F1 Manager 2024 will launch on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One this summer.

With the series sticking to Unreal Engine 4, it's not surprising to see Frontier continue to release the series on last-gen consoles.

Editions and price

Like last year's game, F1 Manager 2024 will launch with two editions: Standard and Deluxe.

Preordering the Standard Edition of F1 Manager 2024 gives you access to an exclusive F1 2024 Show Car preset for the Create a Team livery editor. The Standard Edition will retail for £29.99 / $34.99 on all platforms.

The Deluxe Edition includes five extra liveries for Create a Team as well as five fictional Race Replay events for players to enjoy. You'll pay a small premium for these extras, with the Deluxe Edition retailing for £39.99 / $44.99 on all platforms. Preordering the Deluxe Edition of the game will also give players a 10% discount.

Unlike last year's game, F1 Manager 2024 won't get a physical release and will be digital only. This has enabled Frontier to reduce the retail price.

PC system requirements

F1 Manager 2024 will of course also be released on PC, most likely remaining on Steam and the Epic Games Store. With the engine expected to be the same as F1 Manager 2023, we anticipate the PC minimum requirements to remain the same as last year’s.
