Lando Norris has been making headlines all around the world recently, and now he's taken F1 24 for a spin!
The British McLaren driver got his first Formula 1 victory at the Miami Grand Prix last weekend and now the eyes of racing gamers are on his latest YouTube video.
F1 24 is almost here and Norris has given us a sneak preview into what we can expect from the game later this year. So, let's take a look at what was on show!
Watch Lando Norris Take F1 24 for a Spin!
EA Sports and Codemasters collaborating with real-life Formula 1 drivers for their official F1 game is nothing new.
In fact, current World Champion Max Verstappen has been instrumental in perfecting F1 24's handling model. So, it's little surprise that Norris has gotten in on the action too.
Eagle-eyed viewers will notice the 'blink and you miss it' F1 24 track list shown right at the start of the video. The whole 2024 calendar is there with the addition of Portugal, but France misses out in F1 24.
Norris then goes into F1 World, displaying the option to race in the F1 2024 cars and the 2023 Formula 2 machines. Although, the new F1 World Car isn't available to him yet.
Unsurprisingly, Norris then chooses to race his McLaren MCL38 around Silverstone. That's not before he admires the new graphics on show in the form of his teammate Oscar Piastri.
F1 24 Gameplay
Something that hasn't changed from F1 23 is that Marc 'Elvis' Priestley is your race engineer. When Norris hit the track, he was impressed with the level of realism at Silverstone, stating the F1 24 circuit is on par with McLaren's race simulator.
If you ever feel bad about making mistakes in the F1 game, you shouldn't after this video as Norris makes quite a few when getting to grips with his virtual machine.
Diving into the setups, we see that there's now a setting to be able to configure the engine braking within the Transmission section.
During the race, after a poor start, Norris was battling with Alex Albon in the midfield. DRS was enabled after the first lap, mirroring what's changed in real life.
Norris also referenced the tyre degradation being much more realistic than in F1 23.
Soaking Spa
The Silverstone race didn't go to plan for Norris (he was disqualified for failing to serve a drive-through penalty). So, he decided to give Spa-Francorchamps a go... During a monsoon. How hard can it be?
Very, as it turned out.
Norris praised the new handling model for F1 24, despite running off the track multiple times and losing his front wing. In all seriousness, though, the handling in the rain did appear to be far more realistic than last year.
The way the car slid in slow-speed corners and the frequency and ease of locking up your front tyres impressively replicated real-life in this Grand Prix.
Lastly, we heard a radio clip of Lando after the checkered flag, something that's new for F1 24.

Those that pre-order the Champions Edition get three days of early access from May 28.
