Fans waiting for the Nurburgring to arrive in Assetto Corsa Competizione can finally rejoice. No, this is not an April Fool's joke, the infamous German track is available now in Assetto Corsa Competizione thanks to the Nurburgring 24hr Pack DLC.
A rollercoaster ride
The Nurburgring is one of the most famous racing circuits in the world. Located in the forested hills of the Eifel region of Germany, the Nurburgring is home to high-octane racing, an abandoned rollercoaster, and of course the infamous Nordschleife.
The Nordschleife strikes fear into the heart of even the most seasoned of racer. One lap of the ‘Green Hell’ comprises 13 miles (20km) of twists, turns, and drastic elevation changes. Some incredible racing history has taken place across the Nordschleife, including some tragic moments.
From the gravity-defying Pflanzgarten, to the highly-banked Carousel corner, the track is littered with sections that will keep you on your toes. Every sim racer must complete a lap of the Nordschleife to earn their racing stripes, but it's not been part of Assetto Corsa Competizione's extensive track list. Until now, that is.
Nurburgring available now in Assetto Corsa Competizione
Part of the Nurburgring 24hr Pack DLC, the rollercoaster is now open in Assetto Corsa Competizione. Players can finally get behind the wheel of their favourite ACC car to tackle one of the toughest circuits on earth.
The Nurburgring 24hr Pack DLC is named after the Nurburgring 24 Hours race, an annual GT and Touring Car race that pits the best endurance drivers against the Nordschleife. If taking on the Nordschleife was hard enough during the day, imagine taking it on under the cover of darkness!
The Nurburgring 24 Hours features a combination of the Nordschleife and the GP-Strecke circuits at the Nurburgring, so there is some respite from the Green Hell at least as you rack up the laps.
Players can get their hands on the Nurburgring 24hr Pack DLC for £9.99 on Steam. The DLC hasn’t yet been confirmed as coming to console, but we expect it to considering previous DLC packs have been released on console after PC.
