Polyphony's latest instalment to the grand old franchise takes us back to the mainline Gran Turismo series.

As the first "proper" Gran Turismo game in nearly 10 years, our excitement reached another level as we counted down the days until release.

The wait is over: Gran Turismo 7 is finally here! Today, 4 March, 2022, marks the worldwide release of GT7 on PS4 and PS5, 21 months after it was announced during the PS5 reveal event in June 2020.

The first numbered entry in the series since GT6 in 2013, GT7 returns to its roots, with an expansive single-player campaign and a focus on car collecting.

Release date

Gran Turismo 7's official release date is 4 March. With no early access available via further editions, we'll all be jumping into the game at the same time.

That doesn't mean there isn't a premium edition of Gran Turismo 7 you can get.

Gran Turismo 7 editions

The Standard Edition of Gran Turismo 7 will cost £59.99 on PS4 and £69.99 on PS5. Players can upgrade after purchase to the PS5 version for an extra £10.

If you pre-order the GT7 Standard Edition gets you 100,000 in-game credits and a three-car pack that features the iconic Castrol Tom's Toyota Supra GT500 '97 along with the Porsche 917 Living Legend and Mazda RX-Vision GT3 Concept.

The 25th Anniversary Edition of Gran Turismo 7 comes in at £89.99 and includes both a PS4 and PS5 version along with some exciting extras.

Players will get 1.5 million in-game credits to super-charge their journey. The 25th Anniversary Edition also comes with a special Toyota GR Yaris, 30 PSN Avatars, and the official soundtrack along with the three-car pack detailed above.

Campaign mode returns

After focusing on online and esports play in GT Sport, GT7 will be a return to glory for the single-player experience that we all love Gran Turismo for.

Players will have 20,000 credits to start their journey with and need to buy a car to go racing in the Sunday Cup. It's then all about working your way up.

With the help of the Tuning Shop, Brand Central, and Second Hand Dealership you can build a garage of tuned up beasts to go racing with, and get your basic beginner car competing in all sorts of races!

GT Cafe

The GT Cafe is a new game mode that will appear in Gran Turismo 7.

In this mode, players have to collect cars to earn rewards, while also learning about automotive history. This mode, which will be the game's main campaign mode, is designed to provide players a place to learn about cars and the cultural background behind certain significant models.

It will also provide an opportunity to expand a player's garage by completing menus to unlock extras.

Trophy list revealed

We're now just three days away until the release of Gran Turismo 7! After copies of GT7 were accidentally sent by Amazon to some lucky players early in the US, the full Gran Turismo 7 trophy list has leaked.

In GT7, there are 53 trophies to collect including 47 Bronze, four Silver, one Gold, and one Platinum. With fewer trophies requiring online play, it should be easier for trophy hunters to get the Platinum in GT7 than GT Sport.
