Mario Kart 8 Deluxe gets two-year DLC expansion!


We had all been hoping for Mario Kart 9 news, but it looks like that will have to be put on hold for a while as Mario Kart 8 Deluxe DLC is coming!

This DLC content will ad a huge selection of tracks to the game in timed drops across the next two years!

This new DLC pack is called the "Booster Course Pass" and will cost $24.99, or be free for players with the Switch Online Expansion pack!

It brings a total of 48 new tracks to Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.

The new courses will come in 6 waves, with staggered releases bringing new content to the game until the end of 2023!

The first wave drops on 18 March, 2022 and will include remastered tracks from across the franchise.

The first wave will include Wii Coconut Mall, N64 Choco Mountain, and Tour Tokyo Blur.

So what about Mario Kart 9?

Rumours of Mario Kart 9 being in development have been flying around for a while now, but it looks like they were overblown.

With this new DLC for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, the need for a new game has basically gone out the window.

48 new tracks drip-fed to the Mario Kart community over this year and next will completely refresh the current title, and provide players with a new challenge and new incentive to go racing.

The fact that it is bundled in with the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack, which will have Mario Kart 64 on it too soo, makes it a very good deal for players.

This Booster Course Pass doubles the number of tracks in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, and will certainly have us diving back onto the Switch to enjoy them!
