Forza Horizon 5 Hot Wheels launched last month and has already racked up over one million players. We already know a second expansion is on the horizon as part of the Premium Edition and Add-On pass, but the theme is yet to be confirmed.
In the meantime, a new downloadable Forza Horizon 5 car pack will soon be released featuring custom cars from Donut Media.
Donut Media Car Pack DLC confirmed for Forza Horizon 5
During the latest episode of the Past Gas podcast, Donut Media’s James Pumphrey revealed that Forza Horizon 5 is getting a Donut Media-themed DLC pack.
The unannounced DLC pack will include Donut Media’s HiCars and LowCars as well as the Money Pit cars, HiTrucks, and LowTrucks featured in Donut Media episodes.
If you’re unfamiliar with Donut Media, the HiLow series tasks James Pumphrey and Nolan Sykes to buy near-identical cars and modify them with either cheap or expensive parts. HiCars are modified with expensive parts, while LowCars are fitted with cheap parts.
In one of the most popular episodes, the team fitted identical Nissan 350Zs with a $3,500 single turbo kit and an $8,100 twin turbo kit to find out if expensive car upgrades are worth it.
Nissan 350Zs were originally modified in the HiLow series but have been replaced with Toyota Tacomas in recent episodes.
The Money Pit, on the other hand, is hosted by Zach Jobe, who extensively modifies his Mazda MX-5 Miata and BMW 3 Series in tutorials for car builders. Nissan 350Zs, Toyota Tacomas, BMW 3 Series, and Mazda MX-5s from the HiLow and MoneyPit series will likely be included in the DLC, but we'll have to wait for an official announcement from Microsoft and Playground Games.
Donut Media’s Nolan Sykes, James Pumphrey, Joe Weber, and Jeremiah Burton also had their faces scanned, as Pumphrey confirmed in the podcast. This suggests the show’s hosts will appear in the DLC, perhaps in a new Horizon Story.
Forza Horizon 5 Donut Media Car Pack DLC release date
There’s no release date yet, but the Donut Media Car Pack DLC is coming soon. During the podcast, Pumphrey said FH5’s Donut Media DLC will be released in either August or September. We expect it will coincide with the start of Series 11 at the end of August but we'll hopefully find out more in August's Forza Monthly show.
This won’t be the first time Donut Media has collaborated with a racing game as hosts Nolan Sykes and James Pumphrey lent their voices for DiRT 5’s fictional podcast.
