Disney Speedstorm is available now, but are its online servers down?
Gameloft’s new kart racer lets you race as your favourite Disney-Pixar characters, from Mickey Mouse to Mike Wazowski. You can also race online with your friends, but are the Disney Speedstorm servers down?
We’ve got all the latest info you need to know about Disney Speedstorm’s current server status and scheduled downtime.
Are the Disney Speedstorm servers down?
Disney Speedstorm lets you race online as your favourite Disney characters in ranked matches with up to eight players as you battle to climb the leaderboards.
Ranking up the leagues unlocks rewards including multiplayer coins, tokens, upgrade parts and cosmetics.
There’s also cross-play multiplayer, so you can race with other players across all platforms including PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Windows PC.
This isn’t the only way you can race with other players either, as Disney Speedstorm also has split-screen multiplayer for up to two players.
At the time of writing, the Disney Speedstorm servers are active. Gameloft hasn’t announced any scheduled downtime coming up either.
Speedstorm online issues
Some players have experienced connection issues and long wait times while attempting to play online. On Twitter, one player reported being stuck on the “connecting to servers” screen for over 30 minutes.
So, while the servers are active, you may have to wait a long time for online matches to load during busy periods with large volumes of players.
Although, this has become less common since the game was fully released and passed by its early access stage.
Launch issues
Disney Speedstorm’s launch hasn’t been without issues. As well as connection issues, some players who pre-ordered the Founders Pack are unable to download the game.
Gameloft has issued a statement in response to the launch issues on the game's official social media account.
“We are aware of the issue where some players that pre-ordered the title are unable to download the game and we apologise for it,” the statement reads.
“We are in contact with our partners to have it fixed ASAP, but unfortunately the solution seems to require more time. Solving this is our top priority at the moment - as soon as we have updates, we will let you know. Once again, our apologies for the inconvenience and we're looking forward to all of you being able to play the game."
