Maserati GT2 Confirmed For Assetto Corsa Competizione GT2 Pack DLC

Another day, another new car has been confirmed for the upcoming Assetto Corsa Competizione GT2 Pack DLC.

After confirming the Audi R8 LMS GT2, Kunos has announced the Maserati MC20 GT2 is coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione as part of the GT2 Pack DLC launching this month.

Maserati MC20 GT2 coming to Assetto Corsa Competizione

Based on the MC20 sports car, the Maserati MC20 GT2 boasts the same 3-litre twin-turbocharged V6 Nettuno engine as its road car sibling, producing 621 hp at 7,500 rpm. All that power is sent through a six-speed sequential transmission instead of the road car’s eight-speed, dual-clutch automatic.

As part of an aero package, the GT2 racing variant adds a roof scoop, a prominent rear wing, an aggressive diffuser, and a redesigned bonnet with extra cooling vents.

After making its competition debut in the final round of the 2023 GT2 European Series, the Maserati MC20 GT2 will enter its first full season in 2024. ACC players can put it through its paces on the virtual track when the GT2 Pack DLC launches later this month.

Maserati's GT2 racer is the fourth car confirmed for the GT2 Pack DLC alongside the Audi R8 LMS GT2, Porsche 935, and Porsche 911 GT2 RS CS EVO Kit. That leaves the Brabham BT63 GT2, KTM X-BOW GT2, and Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo GT2 as the remaining cars that will likely join them for afull GT2 lineup.

Kunos Simulazioni hasn’t announced the full car list for the DLC yet, but we expect the Italian developer to drip-feed more car reveals in the run-up to the release.

Assetto Corsa Competizione GT2 Pack DLC set for January 2024 release

Assetto Corsa Competizione’s GT2 Pack DLC launches in January 2024, but the exact release date is not yet confirmed. Pricing is also unconfirmed, but ACC car packs usually cost around £10-£12. Console players will likely have to wait a little longer as ACC DLC packs typically arrive a few months later on PlayStation and Xbox after the initial PC release.

That’s not all that ACC players can look forward to this year. This Spring will see the highly-requested Nurburgring Nordschleife added to the track roster. After that, Assetto Corsa 2, one of the most anticipated racing games of 2024, is set for a Summer 2024 release. Whereas ACC focuses exclusively on GT racing, we’re expecting road cars to return in the mainline sequel.
