Assetto Corsa Competizione is one of the defining sims of the current generation.
It is the official GT World Challenge game, and it's easy to see why. With incredible graphics, and an awesome physics engine, the sim is all we could ask for.
Now, it appears the game is coming to next-gen also. So, let's take a look at ACC on the PS5 and Xbox Series X!
Release date
Initially, the game was penned in for a release on next-gen hardware in a year or two.
However, the team at Kunos appears to have expedited this process, as the game is now "coming to next-gen consoles later this year".
We're not yet certain when exactly this will be. However, given the relatively recent release of the last-gen port of the game, don't expect it anytime soon.
Next-gen hardware
One of the bonuses of the next-gen consoles over last-gen is the impressive hardware. This allows the team far more scope for including a more realistic graphics model and more features.
Last-gen consoles struggled initially with running the game, although this experienced has been significantly improved since.
Now, however, with a standalone port of the game, we imagine ACC will run at up to 120Hz on the next-gen consoles, with a 4K60Hz mode also available.
Another bonus of the powerful will likely be an option for more AI on track, making races even more immersive.
British GT Pack DLC
The most recent addition to the game on PC is a new DLC pack which you can purchase through Steam.
This DLC adds three awesome new circuits - Donington Park, Oulton Park, and Snetterton.
As well as this, the new content also includes 40 new liveries for GT3 and GT4 cars. These were used in the 2019 season of the British GT Championship.
It currently costs £11.99, and will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One later this Spring.
