Kunos Simulazioni has surprised the Sim racing community with a major announcement before last weekend's Italian Grand Prix. Assetto Corsa EVO is said to receive one of motorsport's most iconic circuits, Monza, alongside what strongly appears to be Ferrari's 2025 Formula 1 car, the SF-25.

The historic track and the current F1 car of the most popular motorsport brand on the planet are finally coming to the game, which left fans incredibly excited. With these additions, Assetto Corsa also aims to honor the late great Niki Lauda, a F1 and Ferrari legend.

The Autodromo Nazionale Monza, also referred to as the "Temple of Speed," is one of the most essential tracks in global motorsport. While its arrival in EVO was expected, the timing of its announcement alongside Ferrari's home race makes it all the more fitting.

Early images show detailed trackside elements, updated branding, and worn kerbs, all enhanced by the game's advanced weather and time-of-day systems. With Monza joining Imola as the second Italian track in EVO, there are now 13 confirmed venues.

The even more unexpected addition is the modern Formula 1 machine. The car teased by Kunos carries unmistakable Ferrari design cues, from the configuration of the steering wheel layout to unique aerodynamic details. Charles Leclerc and seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton are currently driving the Ferrari SF-25 in the F1 2025 championship.

If true, this will definitely be one of the few times a current Formula One car has been seen in a simulation that isn't a part of EA's officially licensed F1 series. The SF-25 is one of the most technologically advanced cars in EVO's lineup due to its 1.6 L turbocharged hybrid engine and dual energy recovery systems.

Additionally, Kunos has also hinted that this update will include a tribute to the Ferrari legend Niki Lauda. In the 1970s, the Austrian driver solidified his legacy with Ferrari by winning two of three world titles. With Ferrari itself running a Lauda-inspired livery at Monza the past weekend, speculation suggests EVO may follow suit or even bring back the classic Ferrari 312T that was previously featured in the original Assetto Corsa.

This announcement was made following Assetto Corsa EVO's 0.3 open beta release, which added online multiplayer and is still being refined through community testing. Ranked multiplayer is also expected in an upcoming update and could be a key step towards long-term stability and competitiveness.

While no release date has yet been announced for Monza or the Ferrari SF-25, their confirmation has already generated significant buzz within the sim racing community. So fans have a lot to anticipate in the coming weeks thanks to EVO's continued development.
