If you’re looking for the best F1 24 wheel settings, this is the guide for you.
Developed in collaboration with three-time World Champion Max Verstappen, F1 24's overhauled handling model brings improved traction and a new suspension system.
EA’s Precision Drive technology makes F1 24 easier to play on a controller, but if you want the most realistic experience, you'll need a racing wheel. To get the most out of your wheel, you'll need the best wheel settings before you leave the paddock and hit the track.
Here are the best F1 24 wheel settings as recommended by Alpine esports ambassador and YouTuber Thomb.
How to configure controls
F1 24’s default controls are best suited to controller players. When you first plug your wheel in, the game should recognize your hardware and map buttons accordingly.
Even if this is the case, or if it doesn't work for whatever reason, you may want to head into the options to map your own buttons.
To change the controls, go to Settings > Controls, Vibration, & Force Feedback. Here you can see every control profile for all available devices. You then need to select the profile for your wheel, before pressing Edit.
The following menu is where you can map your buttons. It's important to put all the important controls onto the buttons easily reached by your thumbs. This way you can select these options while charging around the track.
This includes things like ERS, DRS, the pause button, and Flashbacks. You can also more the radio, pit limiter, and MFD buttons so that they are within reach.
If you have any joysticks on your wheel, we recommend mapping one to menu navigation and the other, if you have more than one, to adjusting brake bias and ERS usage while on track. This way you can make crucial changes on the fly for the best results.
Seasoned racers will also want to map a button for manual pitstops. This is in addition to other car setup changes, including fuel usage and differential adjustment.
Once you are happy with your button mapping, it’s time to calibrate your wheel. The calibration menu can be found above the button mapping screen.
Best F1 24 wheel settings
Most wheel calibration can be done outside of F1 24 using your wheel's respective software. However, if you need to make further refinments, you'll need to enter the calibration menu.
Most settings can be left as default. In particular, Steering Rate should be set to 100 and Brake Linearity can be adjusted to 25. This compensates for F1 24's brake sensitivity.
This primarily applies to Thrustmaster and Logitech wheel users. Other wheel brands may require tweaks to other settings to get the best performance.
Once you're happy with the calibration, it's time to adjust the force feedback settings. This menu can be found below Calibration in the control profile.
By default, the Maximum Wheel Rotation is set to 400. While this reflects the game's more sensitive handling, turning it down to 360 will provide a more realistic experience.
Vibration and Force Feedback should be set no higher than 70. No matter how strong you think you are, you'll find out the hard way the first time the wheel snaps in-game. We've turned our setting down even further for extra comfort.
It's also a good idea to turn down On Track Effects to around 15. This setting represents the little bumps on the track. By default, it causes the wheel to shake violently even on small bumps.
Rumble Strip Effects and Off Track Effects should be lowered to 10 for similar reasons. Coming off-track is hard enough without your wheel trying to snap your wrists.
With these wheel settings, you’ll be dominating the race in no time. Check out this summary of the best F1 24 wheel settings below:
