F1 24 has been a torrid time for Codemasters between its horrible handling, terrible sales, and awful player reviews. Now it seems like the developer is simply giving up on it and moving forward.
The Mystery Bumps
Weird bumps in the track surface that can launch the car are not new for F1 24, they've been around for a few years now. They do seem to have multiplied this year though.
It's been a source of constant frustration across every game mode as players have qualifying laps and whole races ruined by these inconsistent invisible bumps.
Some, like the one before Spain's turn 13, were meant to have been fixed in previous updates but are still lingering in the game.
Well, a new update to the F1 24 Community Raised Issues board states they are no longer working on these issues to F1 24 as they have been moved to the "✋ CLOSED ✋" section.
"Tracks - Potential ongoing issues with invisible bump at turn 13 (Spain), Turn 1 (Bahrain), Turns 14-15 (Miami), and Turn 15 (Silverstone). Unusual collision behaviour with kerb at exit of Turn 13 (China). Improvements to these areas won't be made for F1 24. These issues will be investigated for our future titles."
This is disheartening news for players. Codemasters has done a lot to right the wrongs in F1 24, but these issues have been plaguing the community and should be a priority to fix.
Hopefully they will all be solved for F1 25, but trust toward Codemasters is at its lowest since the horrible days of F1 2014 & 2015. The studio was able to pull themselves out of that hole and deliver a golden age of F1 games. Can they do it again though?
