Cyberpunk 2077, after its 8 years of development, arrived to rave reviews... For those on PC and next-gen.
Owners of the game on last-gen, the PS4 and Xbox One, were thoroughly disappointed by the game's performance.
For those who are fans of the game, let's take a look at why Sony have made such an unprecedented decision.
PSN Removal
The game was removed recently from the PSN Store, in a move that is unheard of.
It's important to note that the game can still be purchased in store and online from retailers such as Amazon.
However, Sony is no longer responsible for the digital distribution of the game.
There is also no time frame given as to when the game will make its return. Those yet to purchase the game will hope it's soon!
Sony Certification
In order for a game to be made available on the PlayStation Store, it has to be certified by Sony themselves.
This begs the question, why did Sony certify the game just to remove it days later?
It's possible that Sony passed the certification on the game after playing it on a PS5 and PS4 Pro.
However, players on the PS4 base edition and PS4 slim have experienced many issues.
Xbox Soon?
After these issues, could Microsoft soon remove the game from their store as well?
Users on Xbox One have been experiencing the same issues, so we don't see why not.
However, it is only Sony that has made the big decision so far, so it remains to be seen if Microsoft will follow suit.
The game will still be available from physical stores regardless, so issues will still persist for now!
