DIRT 5 Update 4.04 Patch Notes: Wheel support, trophies, & more

DIRT 5 has been around for a while now, but Codemasters continues to support, improve, and develop the amazing off-road racer.

A new patch has landed to make the game even more accessible for players as well as fix a few things that were lingering in the background.

Let's take a look at what's coming into the game.

Added wheel support

DIRT 5 is definitely a controller-friendly racer, but that doesn't mean those that have wheels need to pick up their game pad.

While already supporting the vast majority of wheels out there, additional PS4 & PS5 wheel support for the following has been added by Codemasters:

GETTING WILD: DIRT 5 allows players to tackle amazing landscapes in a huge range of vehicles

Fixes for two trophies on PS4/PS5 not unlocking properly have been added. This should mean that you can now get the "I'll Show Them! I'll Show Them All!" and "Spare Some Change for Gas?" trophies should now be optainable.

There are also several general fixes and optimisations to improve game performance across all modes.

DiRT Rally 3.0 coming soon?

As the big reveal season approaches all racing eyes are on Codemasters to see what their next Winter release title could be.

The British studio has dropped GRID and DIRT 5 into that slot in previous years. What could it be this time?

With DiRT Rally 2.0 support now ended, Codemasters could well be hard at work on a new rally sim. If so, we expect DiRT Rally 3.0 to get unveiled at EA Play Live 2021.
