Tesla fans are some of the most vocal in the world of cars. This brand of electric vehicles has proven polarising over its short existence. One of the things Forza players love most about the Motorsport and Horizon series is the vast range of cars. But does Forza have Tesla?
Let's take a look.
Elon Musk and Tesla advertising
Founder Elon Musk has particularly outspoken views. He and his team have spoken in the past about their disdain for traditional advertising. Part of it is the urge to operate in a different way to the established car brands.
As such, the manufacturer has rarely officially participated in racing games. Forza games have sometimes been the exception to that rule though!
Tesla in Forza games
Tesla cars have appeared in four Forza games. Two of these occasions were as DLC. The 2011 Roadster Sport was in the Launch Bonus Car Pack DLC for Forza Motorsport 4. The Model S was a VIP pack car in Forza Horizon 2. Even if you can get copies of these games, if you don't already own these DLC packs then you're likely out of luck here.
Twice though Tesla cars have appeared in the base game. The Model S P85D was an Autoshow car in Forza Motorsport 6 and the Model S P90D with Ludicrous Mode was an Autoshow car in Forza Horizon 3.
While neither of those games are on sale now, if you can pick up a copy on disc then this is your best chance to experience a Tesla in a Forza game.
Forza Horizon 5
We have been keeping an eye on the Forza Horizon 5 launch car list and so far there's no hint of Tesla showing up in the game. Judging by Forza games previously, it's possible that there could be a Tesla in a car pack at some point.
That said, there were no Tesla cars in Forza Horizon 4 so it's possible they might not show at all. Either way, we'll keep an eye out and let you know when you can next race these electric machines in a game!
