B-Spec has been a part of the Gran Turismo series since GT4 in 2004 and has also featured in GT5 and GT6. This handy driver management mode allows an AI driver to take over control of your car during races in the career mode.
As you spectate the race, you can issue commands to the AI driver controlling the car, whether it’s instructing them to overtake an opponent, pick up the pace, or pit in. There is an element of strategy too, as increasing the pace makes the driver more likely to make mistakes. These decisions can make the difference between winning and losing a race.
As much as we enjoy driving in GT games, B-Spec is very useful in long endurance races. But will this fan-favourite mode return in Gran Turismo 7?
Does Gran Turismo 7 have B-Spec?
Sony and Polyphony Digital have not confirmed if GT7 has B-Spec yet.
However, since B-Spec has appeared in every numbered GT game since GT4, we think there is a good chance it will return in GT7.
Career mode returns
GT7 is returning to the series’ roots, with an extensive single-player career. If 24-hour endurance races are in the career mode, it makes sense for B-Spec to return in GT7. B-Spec is not in the online-multiplayer-focused GT Sport, however.
GT7’s single-player career mode will also see the return of used car dealerships and championships such as the Sunday Cup and GT Cup.
Gran Turismo 7 release date
We shouldn’t have to wait much longer to find out if B-Spec is making a comeback in Gran Turismo because GT7 releases 4 March, 2022, on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5. Hopefully, Polyphony will release more details about the career mode soon and confirm if GT7 has B-Spec.
As the first numbered entry in the series in nearly 10 years, our excitement levels for GT7 could not be higher.
