Does Gran Turismo 7 have Teslas?

The electric car revolution has begun, but will Gran Turismo 7 have Teslas? Electric cars are becoming more affordable and have better ranges than ever before. In the UK, new combustion car sales will be banned from 2030. Many car manufacturers have also pledged to only sell electric cars within the next few years. And yet you rarely see electric cars in racing games.

One of the leading electric car companies is Tesla. The US car electric car manufacturer has appeared in past GT games, but does Gran Turismo 7 have Teslas?

Does Gran Turismo 7 have Teslas?

Sony and Polyphony have confirmed GT7 will have over 420 cars at launch. So far, only one Tesla has been confirmed for GT7 at launch.

The Tesla Model S returns to GT7 after appearing in GT6 and GT Sport

The Tesla Model S Performance appeared in GT6 and GT Sport, while the original Tesla Roadster was drivable in GT5. Since a high-fidelity version was created for GT Sport, the Tesla Model S Performance is returning to GT7. It was recently shown off in a promotional video, where it was driven by YouTuber Super GT around Willow Springs.

We hope Polyphony adds the high-performance Plaid variant, which has three electric motors producing a combined 1,020 horsepower and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. This enables the Model S Plaid to hit 0-60 mph in less than two seconds.

Tesla Model 3 coming to Gran Turismo 7 in future update

The same video also confirmed the Tesla Model 3 is coming to GT7 in a "future update." However, it's not clear which variant will be added or when it will be available. One possibility is racing driver Dai Yoshihara’s Tesla Model 3 as the time attack car featured prominantly in the video.

Another Tesla model we want to race in GT7 is the second-generation Tesla Roadster. Expected to arrive in 2023, the new Tesla Roadster will be one of the fastest cars in the world when it enters production, with an impressive 0-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds.

If the Tesla Roadster appears in GT7, it means we can take it for a virtual test drive long before the real car enters production. Tesla also sells the Model X and Model Y SUVs, while the futuristic Cybertruck is expected to launch in 2023. All these models could potentially appear in GT7.

Does Forza have Teslas?

As well as appearing in GT6 and GT Sport, the Tesla Model S has also featured in Forza Motorsport 6 as well as Forza Horizon 2 and 3.

Gran Turismo 7 release date

We should find out if we can race Teslas in GT7 soon. With GT7 releasing 4 March, 2022, it should be only a matter of time before the full car list is revealed.
