rFactor 2’s track roster continues to expand as Studio 397 has announced that the Donington Park Grand Prix Circuit is coming to the popular PC racing simulation next month.
Donington Park coming soon to rFactor 2
Home of the British Touring Car Championship World Superbikes, and Donington Historic Festival Donnington Park is one of the UK’s most popular, technical, and historic motor racing circuits.
Located in Leicestershire, England, Donington Park, first opened in 1931 and hosted the Donington Grand Prix before closing in 1939 during World War II. It then reopened in 1977.
rFactor 2’s version of Donington Park will include the Grand Prix and National layouts. With 12 corners, the Grand Prix layout measures 2.498-miles long. The National layout, on the other hand, is 1.957-miles long and has ten corners.
Thanks to meticulous laser scans and thousands of reference materials, rFactor 2’s version of Donington Park represents “the most modern and up-to-date version of the track in sim racing.”
Donington Park is rarely seen in modern racing games, appearing only in Assetto Corsa Competizione, the Project CARS series, and iRacing.
