After months of speculation and rumours, EA has finally revealed Codemasters’ new DiRT Rally successor, EA Sports WRC. With this year’s rally game launching in November, Codemasters has already started revealing the EA Sports WRC car list.
As well as the potent Rally1 hybrid cars from the current season, EA Sports WRC will include several historic cars spanning WRC’s illustrious 60-year history.
Latest news - Full EA Sports WRC car list confirmed
With less than two months until launch, EA has confirmed the full EA Sports WRC car list. Covering the entire history of the sport, EA Sports WRC will feature 78 cars at launch across 18 classes.

Rally1 hybrids
First seen in the 2022 season, Rally1 cars from the current 2023 season make up the top WRC car class. These cars boast hybrid powertrains for the first time in WRC, offering more power than their predecessors.
Like in WRC Generations, you'll need to manage the hybrid boost deplyoment. Showcased in a recent gameplay deep dive, braking recharges the battery. Once recharged, reapplying the throttle will give you a speed boost.
This deployment can be configured with three settings to suit different stages, bringing a layer of strategy. An aggressive throttle setting will drain the battery faster, while the cautious setting won't active the hybrid boost until the throttle exceeds an input of 70%.
Nearly 70 classic rally cars
EA Sports WRC will boast ten official WRC, WRC2, and Junior WRC cars from Ford, Toyota, and Hyundai. Introduced in last year’s season, the top-tier Rally 1 cars boast hybrid powertrains and are significantly more powerful than their predecessors.
Each game platform will have a different cover car. EA Sports WRC's ambassador Kalle Rovanpera's Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 Hybrid stars on the PS5 cover, while the Hyundai i20 and Ford Puma Rally1 Hybrids appear on the Xbox and PC covers respectively.
Alongside the contemporary 2023 WRC cars are 68 historic rally cars across 15 classes, from Group B monsters like the Audi Sport quattro S1 to Colin McRae’s legendary 1998 Subaru Impreza S4. This brings EA Sports WRC's car list to a total of 78 at launch.
Build your own rally car
One of EA Sports WRC’s headline features is the ability to build your own rally car. This starts with players selecting the chassis, body shells, and mechanical components before customising the interior and exterior.
You can then personalise the car’s appearance with a livery editor and take it for a test drive.
