EA Sports WRC Season 2 Update Adds Central European Rally

2023 is nearly over, but EA Sports WRC players are getting an early Christmas present with the arrival of the substantial Season 2 update. Launching this week, EA Sports WRC Season 2 brings a new rally location along with new Rally Pass items and over 60 new Moments.

EA Sports WRC Central Europe Rally release date confirmed

The main highlight of EA Sports WRC Season 2 is the addition of the new Central European Rally. Debuting in the 2023 WRC season, the inaugural Central European Rally took place in October with Teemu Suninen and co-driver Mikko Markkula winning the first-ever round for Hyundai.

Inspired by the real rally, the new Central European location features 32km of fast-flowing Czech asphalt and scenic countryside across 12 demanding stages. EA Sports WRC’s version appears to be scaled back though, as the real-life rally also passes through the Austrian countryside and Germany.

Playable in all major game modes, the Central European Rally will be available for free from 14 December as part of the Season 2 update. The Central European Rally increases the number of locations up to 18, meaning all events in the 2023 calendar are now represented in EA Sports WRC.

"Our vision with Central Europe is to dare our players to push the limits of control and take calculated risks as they race through small villages, forests and open farmland. The addition of the Central European Rally provides an exhilarating gaming experience with its wide, winding roads and unique countryside tracks," said Matthew Battison, Creative Director at Codemasters.

“This is just the beginning of a series of exciting updates that we have planned for EA Sports WRC, and we look forward to sharing more in the coming months."

New Rally Pass season

In addition to the Central European Rally, Season 2 sees the start of a new Rally Pass Season. Starting on 19 December, the new Rally Pass Season will bring 30 unlockable customisation items across the free, VIP and EA Play tiers. That’s not all, as over 60 Moments (eight of which will be exclusive to EA Play members) will also be added throughout Season 2 reliving iconic moments from WRC’s 50-year history.

Season 2’s launch coincides with a new EA Sports WRC patch update launching on 14 December containing bug fixes for steering wheel, controller and tuning setups.

If you haven’t already, we recommend saving your steering wheel and controller setups as they will be reset when the update goes live. More details will be revealed when the EA Sports WRC update 1.4.0 patch notes go live.
