6 cool Easter eggs in Forza Horizon 4

There are plenty of fun Easter eggs throughout Forza Horizon 4 - you just need to know where to find them.

So, with Easter on the horizon (pun intended), we’ve listed some of our favourite hidden jokes and details in the game for your enjoyment!

1. Your character really dances

Your character’s got some moves - especially when a Skill Song is played on the radio.

BOP: Watch your character nod their head inside the car

Skill Songs, as you know, are songs played through the in-game radio that double any Skill Score earned. But did you know that in Forza Horizon 4, the player will dance around inside their car when a Skill Song plays? Smooth, real smooth.

2. The buses are 'well slow'

Driving in Forza Horizon 4 is all about speed, right? Well, maybe not always. Especially when you’re behind the wheel of one of the generic Playground Buses with the distinctive 'Local Travel' livery. Those buses are well slow, which might explain why their fictitious in-game brand is ‘Welslo’. Geddit?

3. Trust the Gene Genie

This one has plenty of 80s charm.

If you head over to Derwent Reservoir, you might be lucky enough to find a glorious 1983 Audi Sport quattro for one of the game’s barn finds. Interestingly enough, this quattro is complete with a police light and even bullet holes on the side - which suggests it was involved in some kind of firefight.

RETRO: This Audi should scrub up alright

This is of course a reference to the final episode of popular BBC series Ashes to Ashes, set in the 1980s, where the main characters drive around in an Audi quattro similar to this one. Heavy!

4. Real-life number plates

Here's a cool one.

Over the last few years, fans of the game have noted that many of the number plates in the game are actually taken from real vehicles.

REALISM: Luckily, you won't have to tax this Ford Escort!

Take the Ford Escort in the picture below, for example. If you run the plate through your Vehicle Smart app on iPhone or Android, you’ll find that it was registered to a Ford in the exact same color in real life.

5. It's the little things

There's plenty of small but satisfying details throughout Forza Horizon 4. And honestly, it's the little things that make this game so special.

LIGHT UP: Watch those brake discs glow!

For example, the music from the radio will stop when you drive inside a tunnel and start again once you exit, just like satellite radio in real life. Or how about those brake discs visibly heating up after some heavy braking?

6. "Too soon, junior"

Something tells us that the developers of the Forza Horizon series are seriously big fans of the The Fast and the Furious.

In Forza Horizon 2, there were numerous references to the street racing film franchise, including the achievement "Too Soon, Junior". This could be unlocked if you used up all of your nitrous in the first half of a race - a nod to the first film when one of the character's uses up all of their nitrous too soon.

SQUINT: You need sharp eyes for some of these Easter eggs

In Forza Horizon 4, the phrase comes back in the form of a postcard that can be found on the floor around the festival area.
