- Quick Answer: Euro Truck Simulator 2 update 1.60 delivers five new in-game radio stations, updated cabin lighting, Volvo truck aerodynamic pieces, and an overhauled fatigue mechanic.
SCS Software has just released Euro Truck Simulator 2's 1.60 update, and it's a substantial one.
Across audio, visuals, UI, and truck content, the patch delivers several features that have been in the works for some time.
Here's everything that landed in the ETS2 build.
Game Radio Brings Five Curated Stations to Your Cab

The headline feature of 1.60 is Game Radio, a brand-new in-game radio system that replaces the old approach to in-game music with five fully produced stations, each built around its own sound and identity.
Rust FM is the rock station, spanning five decades from late-60s psychedelia to modern indie, built for drivers who want raw riffs and extended solos.
Escape goes the quieter route, offering lo-fi textures and jazzy chords aimed at calmer, more introspective drives. PUMP IT! leans into hypnotic electronic production and intensity.
Pop Gear runs on hooks and contemporary pop momentum, while Roadio anchors the lineup with American roots music and Americana for long hauls.
The artist roster is solid across the board. Rust FM features Sorry and SASAMI, both on Domino Records, alongside DIY Cornish duo Holiday Ghosts.
PUMP IT! brings in French producer Tony Romera and Munich duo KIDSØ. At the same time, Roadio pulls in indie folk veteran Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Grammy nominee Thomm Jutz, and New Zealand singer-songwriter Amber Lynn Nicol.
Music comes from respected independent labels including Domino Recording Company, Drag City, and Ninja Tune, with every track handpicked.
Escape deserves a specific callout for content creators. SCS has committed to keeping it stream-safe, featuring StreamBeats by Harris Heller, a music library built specifically to avoid copyright claims.
Players can enable Streamer Mode directly from the in-game menu.
A new audio player widget accompanies the feature, displaying the station name, song title, artist, and an animated audio waveform while driving, and is configurable through the Widget Options menu (F6).
The modding community can also create and share their own custom Game Radio stations.
The Improved Material System Overhauls Interior Lighting

Developed as part of Project Road Trip, the Improved Material System targets vehicle interiors and how materials respond to light.
The result is a cabin environment where the visual difference between leather, fabric, plastic, and metal is far more readable, even in low-light conditions.
The technology uses multiple variants of dynamic cubemaps, allowing surfaces to reflect their surroundings more naturally and respond to ambient light in a way the old system could not.
The first ETS2 trucks to receive the upgrade are the DAF NGD and MAN TG3 TGX. SCS has confirmed the system will roll out gradually to the rest of the fleet in future updates.
Given how much time players spend inside the cab, this is a meaningful quality-of-life improvement for anyone who cares about cabin fidelity.
Light Tweaks Polish the Overall Visuals

Alongside the material system, SCS carried out minor adjustments to ETS2's global lighting. The changes focus on exposure and contrast balancing, with subtle refinements applied to bad weather conditions.
The goal was a more polished and consistent look rather than any dramatic overhaul. The before-and-after screenshots SCS shared show the difference is noticeable without being jarring.
Volvo FH Series 6 Gets New Aerodynamic Parts
The Volvo FH Series 6 receives a content update in 1.60, with new aerodynamic roof deflectors available for the Sleeper Cab, Globetrotter, and Globetrotter XL cab variants.
All Aero cabin variants also gain the option for a new black aerodynamic A-Pillar trim, matching the design language of the newest generation of Volvo FH trucks.
SCS notes the additions reflect Volvo Trucks' ongoing efforts to improve airflow efficiency around the cab, and they integrate cleanly into the existing body design.
The Job Details Widget Consolidates Delivery Info
.webp?width=700)
Job information in ETS2 has historically been spread across multiple screens, requiring players to pause or dig into menus mid-haul.
The Job Details Widget fixes this. Once enabled through the Widget Options menu (F6), it puts cargo type and weight, delivery location, color-highlighted job income, and remaining time to complete the job on-screen without interrupting the drive.
The GPS also picks up a useful addition in this update: it now displays the estimated arrival day and time alongside remaining travel time and distance.
One thing to note is that the remaining job time display moves out of the GPS entirely and lives exclusively in the Job Details Widget going forward.
The Expanded Rest Mechanic Overhauls Fatigue
The previous fatigue system gave players a single rest value and a fixed sleep duration. The 1.60 update replaces this with two separate systems.
Rest State, indicated by a bed icon, gradually depletes the longer you drive and restores when you rest. When it hits exhaustion, microsleep events begin occurring.
Mandatory Break, shown by a "P" icon with the remaining hours before a required stop, operates more strictly. In ETS2, drivers can haul for up to 10 hours before a mandatory stop, which then requires 9 consecutive hours of rest.
Exceeding the limit triggers a traffic violation penalty, and players receive a warning two hours before the cutoff.
Both systems can be toggled independently in the settings, giving players the flexibility to run either, both, or neither depending on their preferred level of simulation.
