Farming Simulator 22 is now live and ready to be purchased whenever you give this game a try. It can be quite daunting when you first start the game, as there's a lot to learn and a steep learning curve. Farming Sim 22's store is extensive and there are a lot of options when it comes to getting the most from your land.
We're not going to be recommending equipment today, but we will show you how to make the most out of the game's store. Here's everything you need to know!
Choosing the right option
When it comes to the Store, there are five main options you can use for equipment. Buying and selling equipment is self-explanatory. Leasing equipment allows you to loan equipment in without having to pay the full price. It's a similar system to those who get cars on finance, you pay a monthly fee rather than the asking price, but you don't own the car.
Then, there are also the repair and repainting options. Again, these are pretty self-explanatory, but we'll go into the levels of customisation and how effective the repair functions are.
To access the shop, press P on keyboard if you're on PC. Alternatively, you can walk up to the shop and press R when you're outside.
Buying
There's a massive selection of items to purchase in Farming Simulator 22 and these are divided into categories:
- Vehicles
- Trailers
- Objects e.g. pallets and bales
- Packs e.g. crop seeds and animals
- Used, where you can buy used equipment for a cheaper price than new
You can also buy equipment by brand as well, which is the first option on the menu on the left. When you do buy a vehicle, you'll be given options when it comes customisation. The stats pane on the right will check how changing parts such as tyres will affect your vehicle. You can even personalise your vehicle's licence plates.
Selling
Selling equipment in Farming Sim 22 couldn't be simpler. Press P on the keyboard to go back into the store menu, then head to your owned items (garage symbol). Select the equipment you want to sell, then press sell at the bottom of the screen. The price you'll receive is displayed on the item's tile and the money will go into your balance instantly.
If you've got time on your hands though, there is another way to make money by selling equipment. In terms of the price you'll get, this is a better way to go about it. If you go over to the store you bought the item from, you will receive a slightly higher (around 10%) price when selling.
Repairing and repainting
As time goes on, you'll need to repair your equipment to make sure it's up to scratch. All vehicles have a condition bar, which is shown in the bottom right of the screen. When this starts to go below half full, your chances of encountering a mechanical issue increases significantly.
Using the same store in which you can sell (indicated by the spanner symbol outside of it) is how you repair equipment. Travel here in the vehicle you want to repair, press R when you're outside and then select the repair option at the bottom of the screen. Repairing is a great option, as it's many times cheaper than buying or leasing new equipment.
This is also the location where you can repaint vehicles. If you fancy changing the colour of your vehicle, or freshening up the paint, go into the repainting option at the bottom of the screen.
Leasing
When you don't have enough money in the bank to buy new equipment and you don't want to buy used, leasing is a solid option. To lease a vehicle, select a vehicle you want in the store and go into the customisation menu. From there, you can choose to lease the vehicle using the option at the bottom of the screen.
Leasing is just over 10% of the cost of buying a vehicle outright. The downside of this is though, that you won't own it when your lease contract expires.
