Itās the end of the road for Fast & Furious Crossroads. After launching in August 2020 on PS4, Xbox One and PC, an update on the gameās official website confirms that āall product sales will endā on 29 April 2022 at 4am CEST/3am BST.
End of the road
While Fast & Furious Crossroads will no longer be sold after 29 April, Bandai Namco has confirmed that digital copies of the game will remain in your library and can be redownloaded if you already bought it and want to reinstall it.
Any DLC purchased before 29 April will also still be available to use after the game is delisted. Surprisingly, the online multiplayer will remain active.
Developed by Slightly Mad Studios, the creator of Project CARS, Fast & Furious Crossroads is an action driving game with a story mode featuring Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, and Tyrese Gibson, who reprise their roles as Dominic Toretto, Letty Ortiz, and Roman Pearce respectively.
Why is Fast & Furious Crossroads being delisted?
Bandai Namco hasnāt confirmed why Fast & Furious Crossroads is being pulled from sale after less than two years. One possible explanation is that licensing deals may have expired.
Back in 2018, the Forza Horizon 2 Presents Fast & Furious car pack was also delisted after three years. Its negative critical reception could also be a factor.
With an average Metacritic score of 3.5 and an average user score of 1.8 for the PS4 version, Fast & Furious Crossroads was a critical car crash. It was panned for its poor driving physics, short campaign, and dated visuals.
Even so, itās unusual for a game to be pulled from sale this soon, regardless of its reception ā especially one attached to a major Blockbuster movie license like Fast & Furious. After 29 April, the only way to play Fast & Furious Crossroads will be to track a used physical copy if you donāt own it digitally.
Alternatively, Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rise of SH1FT3R is still available. Based on the animated Spy Racers spin-off, it recently received a free next-gen upgrade for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
