Forza Horizon 5 gave a surprise announcement that it's getting Barbie content.
Based on one of the cars we've seen featured in the trailer for the movie, Forza Horizon 5 is getting a pair of new cars. So, what can we expect from this? We've got everything you need to know right here!
Forza Horizon 5 Barbie
The official Xbox Twitter account made the announcement public on 26th June. Both the 'Barbie Movie' 1956 Chevrolet Corvette EV and Ken’s 2022 GMC HUMMER EV Pickup are in Forza Horizon 5.
This update is absolutely free and available to download now. If you boot your game up and head over to your Message Center, you'll be able to add these two new cars.
The cars couldn't look more different, but both are special in their own way. Ken's Hummer is an absolute beast and one of FH5's toughest vehicles.
Barbie's Chevrolet is a beauty and based on one of the nicest American cars from the 1950s.
More promotional vehicles?
If it wasn't already obvious, this addition has a secondary purpose. The makers of Barbie will have been in touch with the developers and publishers of Forza Horizon 5 to create in-game versions of their movie cars.
This isn't anything new for Forza, far from it. Horizon games have included cars based upon Lego cars before, such as the Lego Speed Champions add-on for Horizon 4.
In some senses, it's a win-win for both players and the makers of games. The players get new and free content, while the developers and publishers get some extra cash to improve their games.
So, we'll probably see some new content based around Hollywood Blockbuster films. We'll have to wait and see what they will be, but we've got two new ones to enjoy in Forza Horizon 5!
