Forza Horizon 5 fan recreates Tsukuba Circuit with amazing accuracy

With Forza Horizon 5 focusing on open-world street racing and the delisted Forza Motorsport 7 showing its age, some Forza fans are desperate to race on real tracks in a modern simcade game.

This led to one YouTuber recreating one of Japanā€™s most famous race tracks in Forza Horizon 5: Tsukuba Circuit. It's a circuit Gran Turismo players will be familiar with.

Tsukuba Circuit recreated in Forza Horizon 5

Using Google Maps and Assetto Corsaā€™s Tsukuba Circuit as references, YouTuber HokiHoshi has created an astonishingly accurate replica of Tsukuba Circuit in Forza Horizon 5ā€™s Event Labs.

HokiHoshi even measured the distances of straights in Google Maps to recreate Tsukuba Circuit as accurately as possible.

The YouTuber was inspired to build a full-scale replica of the Japanese circuit after failing to find any Tsukuba replicas in Event Labs with proper start points.

HokiHoshi has also built a popular Test Track in Event Labs, but the scale of this project posed an altogether different challenge, taking 35 hours to build over one week.

After creating the layout, HokiHoshi surrounded the track with dirt runoffs and used walls to painstakingly create painted lines and curbs around the circuit.

ā€œLaying down strips of paint in something like ten-foot increments around a 1.4-mile track on both sides was not my idea of fun,ā€ he said.

His efforts paid off though because Forza Horizon 5 players can now race around an accurate replica of Tsukuba Circuit.

Once this was completed, the track was decorated with props to make it look like the actual Tsukuba Circuit. The YouTuber was also mindful of not overusing props to optimise the track for the older Xbox One. Banked turns were also added to simulate elevation changes.

ā€œIt's my first time ever building anything of this magnitude, but I really think it does the real Tsukuba justice,ā€ HokiHoshi wrote on Reddit.

How to download Forza Horizon 5 Tsukuba Circuit

At the time of writing, the full circuit and short circuit layouts can be downloaded but HokiHoshi also plans to add the chicane layout soon. Each layout can be raced in multiplayer, giving players a proper track racing experience in Forza Horizon 5.

If you want to take the circuit for a test drive, you can download the Forza Horizon 5 Tsukuba Circuit using the following Event Lab share codes:

  • Full Circuit: 767 531 646
  • Short Circuit: 162 313 491
