The news recently dropped of the release of Forza Horizon 5, or at least, a hint of its release.
This news got us thinking, imagine how big an open-world game on next-gen could be!
Without further ado, let's take a look at why Forza Horizon 5 will be the biggest ever!
Release Date
Firstly, it's important to remember that this 'leak' is from a credible source, but must be taken with a pinch of salt.
Speaking on a The Xbox Empire podcast episode, journalist Jeff Grubb said that a sequel could be out in 2021.
In fact, what he actually stated was that following the Forza Motorsport announcement, he thinks we might get the Forza Horizon game first.
Yes, that would mean back to back Forza Horizon titles if true!
Forza Horizon 5
The game itself, if released next year, will likely be built for Xbox Series X/S.
As such, it will purely have next-gen power in mind, letting the team building the game run as wild as they want to.
We don't yet know where the map is but rest assured, it'll be a big one. Despite this, Grubb did say "I think I know the setting", which sounds ominous and exciting.
With next-gen graphics also available, expect one hell of a road trip no matter where you choose to travel.
The Source
The fountain of this speculation is the aforementioned Jeff Grubb.
A journalist for Gamesbeat, there is no reason to discredit his initial game release expectations.
In fact, Grubb's predictions have been accurate in the past, so we have every reason to believe him here.
Either way, our hopes are high for a year of fantastic racing games for us fans!
