The Forza Horizon 5 Auction House has been closed for weeks after players broke the in-game economy with a credit farming exploit.
Thankfully, the Auction House is now open for business in Forza Horizon 5 once again. As a goodwill gesture, players are getting two rare cars for free.
Forza Horizon 5 Auction House reopens
The Auction House allows players to sell cars to other players or bid on cars. However, in an unprecedented move, Playground Games closed the Forza Horizon 5 Auction House after players used an exploit to win infinite credits in Super 7 Community events.
This inflated Auction House prices significantly, effectively breaking the in-game economy.
Now that the Auction House has reopened, Playground Games has reset the minimum bid and buyout value for all cars.
As well as reopening the Auction House, credits have been reset for players who excessively used the Super7 exploit. These players won’t be banned, however, as Playground Games acknowledges “this error was on our side.”
How to get free gift cars
As a goodwill gesture for the disruption, all Forza Horizon 5 cars have been gifted two hard-to-find cars: the 2021 Audi RS E-tron and 2021 BMW M4 Competition Coupe.
The RS E-tron was originally a Horizon Road Trip Series reward car at 80 points while the M4 Competition Coupe was a Rami’s Racing History Series reward car at 80 points.
The downside is these cars are no longer exclusive since all players can now claim them for free.
To claim these free gift cars, go to My Horizon in the pause menu and navigate to the Gifts tab. Here, you can download the 2021 Audi RS E-tron and 2021 BMW M4 Competition Coupe. Once downloaded, they will appear in your garage.
