After the latest Forza Monthly Show wrapped up, the Let’s Go stream provided a closer look at what to expect in Forza Horizon 5 Series 6 starting next week.
As well as an extended look at the new Drift Club Mexico Horizon Story, we also got a first look at the Forza Horizon 5 Series 6 reward cars.
Series 6 Reward cars
One of the unlockable Series 6 reward cars is the 2021 McLaren 765LT (Longtail). Limited to 765 units in real life, the 765LT is a track-focused supercar built for performance.
Generating 755 horsepower, it's faster and 80kg lighter than the McLaren 720S. It can be yours by earning 20 PTS during the Autumn Storm” Season on the Series 6 Festival Playlist from 7 April – April 13.
This isn't the only McLaren coming to FH5 in Series 6. Joining the 765LT is the 2014 McLaren 650S Spider, which is the reward car in the Spring “Hot” Season Festival Playlist running 21 April – 27 April for 20 PTS.
Other new Forza Horizon 5 Series 6 reward cars include the 2012 Ascari KZ1R and the Italian 2018 ATS GT supercar.
The Ascari KZ1R can be earned in the Summer “Wet” Festival Playlist from 31 March - 6 April. To unlock the ATS GT, earn 20 PTS during the Winter “Dry” Season Festival Playlist from 14 April - 20 April.
Returning reward cars in Series 6 include the Jaguar C-X75, Ferrari Enzo, Porsche 911 GT1, Lamborghini Aventador SVJ. Series 6 will also have another Treasure Hunt.
Series 6 Car Pass cars
Over the next few weeks, four new Car Pass cars are coming to Series 6:
- Oldsmobile Aerotech - 31 March
- Mclaren 620R - 7 April
- Mini Cooper JCW GP - 14 April
- Porsche 911 Speedster - 21 April
Each car is new to Forza. Some won't come as a surprise though, as they already leaked.
Horizon Open Custom races
Horizon Open also sees some improvements in Series 6. As shown in the Let’s Go stream, a new custom racing option makes it easier to search for custom lobbies and join a match and race with like-minded players.
Season 6 adds new options to filter event types (road, dirt, cross country, and street) and PI classes. Only the most popular configurations will feature, however. There won't be an option to race in a cross-country event with Class D cars, for example.
A new standalone progression system will apply to Open Racing, Drifting, Playground Games and Custom Racing. Starting in Series 6, XP earned in Horizon Open is added to the traditional player level and the new Horizon Open level.
New Badges can also be unlocked for your player label as you level up and complete objectives in Horizon Open. Badges are visible in Horizon Life Free Roam, race standings and Leaderboards, allowing players to show off their achievements.
Festival Playlist
With Series 6 comes a new Festival Playlist to reap rewards. Over the next month, players can earn new collectable Paint Barrels and miniature T-Rex dinosaurs.
Series 6 adds new 27 clothing items to customise your avatar. These include a t-shirt for completing the first chapter of the Mexico Drift Club story and a Drift Club race suit and helmet.
Series 6 also adds five new car horns:
- Mechanical Whizz
- Paint Spray
- Pinball Machine
- Wheelspin Win
- Piñata Pop
New EventLab props
In addition, Series 6 adds an assortment of props for EventLabs. These include concrete and plaster walls, concrete, dirt, and asphalt platforms/ neon shipping containers and directional arrow decals; a tyre stack wall and concrete pillar, as well as festival-inspired towers and Lunar New Year lanterns.
These props were added in response to the community requesting more building block props for EventLabs.
A new Scale Gravity option in the Rules of Play also lets players increase or decrease the gravity forces applied to a player car from 10 per cent to 200 per cent.
Drift Club Mexico Horizon Story
One of the highlights of Series 6 is a new Horizon Story called Drift Club Mexico. The first new Horizon Story since FH5 launched last year, Drift Club Mexico sees the return of everyone's Welsh drift enthusiast Robert Glenn from Forza Horizon 4.
You’ll get to drive seven of the world’s most famous drift cars, including the iconic Toyota Corolla AE86 and the insane Ford Mustang Mach-E 1400. Ford’s monstrous drift car was developed with the help of Formula Drift champion Vaughn Gittin Jr.
Forza Horizon 5 Series 6 start date
Series 6 starts next week on 29 March. Like other series, it will last four weeks, with a new season Festival Playlist each week.
