More and more cars keep being added to the Forza Horizon 5 car list. We're excited to get out for a drive in the Mercedes-AMG ONE in particular!
There are some notable omissions from the list though. Let's take a look at some cars that we haven't yet seen or heard mention of in Horizon 5. Here's why we hope they make an appearance!
2022 Nissan Fairlady Z (Z34)
Known simply as the Nissan Z in most countries, this spiritual descendant of the original Nissan Fairlady has a sort of brutish elegance to its design. We're yet to see any hint that it will be featured in Forza Horizon 5. That said, we'll be shocked if it doesn't show up at some stage.
The new Z, powered by a 3.0 litre twin-turbo V6 engine, sends 400 horsepower to the rear wheels. This is an obvious candidate for a RWD purist's drift build. There is speculation this will be the completion bonus for collecting all other Nissan cars. Let's hope so!
2017 Volkswagen Amarok
If you're serious about getting about in comfort in a harsh environment like the deserts of Mexico, this will surely make your shortlist. The Amarok is a premium mid-sized pick-up available with a range of options, including rear or four wheel drive. We'll take the latter, with the 2017-onwards 3.0 litre diesel V6 twin-turbo engine, please.
The model with unpainted bumpers and steel wheels looks ready to dominate Forza Horizon cross country races! Also it would be great to have this diesel power unit in the game, opening up some new engine swap options and giving the choice of the unique characteristics of diesel.
These have had great sales success in Mexico and so would definitely be an appropriate addition to the game.
2000 Subaru Impreza WRX STi (GDA)
We're not short of sporty Impreza options in the Horizon world. We've got nearly everything from the 1998 22B-STi to the 2015 WRX. I'm here to make the case for the underrated GDA version though.
The round headlights were a big departure from the more sober looks of the previous model. But in hindsight, this edition is a bit of a cult classic. There's something of the Ford RS200 about those lights and that bonnet vent. Compared to the much fussier and more complicated looking later WRX models, this one doesn't feel the need to scream about its performance. We would love to see these at the Horizon festival!
