While Forza Motorsport stole the show in June’s Forza Monthly stream, we also got a sneak peek at the new Forza Horizon 5 Upgrade Heroes series.
Starting next week on 22 June, the new Upgrade Series will bring a raft of modified cars to Forza Horizon 5. It also sees the return of Donut Media with a new Horizon Story campaign based on the popular YouTube channel.
First look at Forza Horizon 5 Upgrade Heroes reward cars
In terms of new cars, the 2023 #64 Nissan Z driven by Formula Drift star Chris Forsberg will make its Forza debut in the Upgrade Heroes Series. Joining it will be the Pagani Huayra BC.
The Huayra BC can be unlocked at the end of the series for 80 points, while the #64 Nissan Z will unlock at 160 points.
Playgrounds Games will provide a full rundown of every Upgrade Heroes Festival Playlist in next week’s Let's ¡GO! stream on Monday 19 June. However, we also got a sneak peek at a new Horizon Story campaign coming to the Upgrade Heroes Series.
Donut Media HiLo Horizon Story
Donut Media is also returning to Forza Horizon 5 in the new HiLo Horizon Story campaign. For the uninitiated, Donut Media is an automotive YouTube channel known for its humorous hosts and car challenges. One of Donut Media’s most popular series is HiLo.
This sees the team upgrade two stock cars with cheap and expensive parts to create one “Lo” car and one “Hi” car such as upgrading the suspension or creating custom paint jobs. These customised cars are then put through a series of challenges to find out which car is best and if expensive parts are better than cheap parts.
Previewed in June's Forza Monthly stream, the first chapter is based on the HiLo episode where the team kit out a pair of Nissan 350Zs. After meeting Donut Media hosts James Pumphrey and Nolan Sykes, you’ll get to choose whether you want to join the Hi or Lo car team and complete challenges inspired by the show at the test track.
With 13 chapters, four car rewards including the two 350Zs and plenty of easter eggs, HiLo looks like it will be a great campaign for fans of the show. Once you’ve finished the campaign, you can also replay the chapters with the other team. More will be revealed in next week’s Let's ¡GO! stream on Monday 19 June.
New reward cars spotted
While the remaining reward cars remain are yet to be revealed, the highly requested Pagani Huayra R and Lotus Emira can be seen briefly at the start of the chapter. These are likely the two other new reward cars coming to the Upgrade Series.
This will be Forza Horizon 5’s second Donut Media-themed series following Series 14 Donut Media in November 2022. Before the Upgrade Heroes series preview, Turrn 10 provide a deep dive into Forza Motorsport's career mode.
