Xbox and PC players are eagerly awaiting the big racing game release of this year. Forza Horizon 5 is mere weeks away and promises to be the greatest festival yet.
After thoroughly exploring Great Britain in Forza Horizon 4, where are we headed next?
The location of Forza Horizon 5
Forza Horizon 5 takes us to a fictionalised Mexico. This map features a huge range of terrains, with eleven distinct biomes. We'll be racing all over deserts, urban environments, beaches, and even scaling a towering volcano.
Mexico will be the largest map ever seen in a Forza Horizon game. We're also going to see the most roads and the longest highway yet.
The main city in Forza Horizon 5
The main city in the new Forza Horizon game will be Guanajuato City. Like in the real life city, we'll see a network of tunnels beneath the buildings which will make for exciting racing environments!
Guanajuato city centre is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and known for its distinctive sandstone buildings. It's also a popular tourist destination. We're excited to see local landmarks like the Plaza de la Paz show up in the game.
Historical sites in Forza Horizon 5
The new Horizon game will also feature several historical locations from Mexico. We'll get to race along iconic spots such as the Teotihuacan pyramids and the Mulegé complex of Jesuit church buildings.
It's not just man-made landmarks we'll be looking out for though. The stunning Arch of Cabo San Lucas, recreated with incredible detail, will be a popular photography spot.
It looks like Mexico will have something for everyone, however you like to play the Forza Horizon games. While the Playground Games team disappointed some by not choosing Japan for this instalment, it looks like the Mexican map will be a hit with all Forza players.
