Except for Halo, Forza Horizon is the most successful Xbox-exclusive IP in gaming. The open-world racing series is on its fifth installment and continues to wow millions of players and totally dominate its niche.
There is nothing like it on PlayStation, despite The Crew's best efforts, which is why when Microsoft said they would start opening up their exclusivity and publishing titles on PlayStation there was a huge clamor to get Forza Horizon 5 on Sony's console.
A recent leak by reliable source eXtasls states that the Forza Horizon 5 PS5 port is ready and was meant to go out this summer but was ultimately delayed.
If this report is true then it is a surprise, as Forza Horizon 5 would surely have performed brilliantly in Black Friday and Christmas sales.
It's unclear what the hold up could be. There may be some licensing issues to figure out but we hope that Forza Horizon 5 and the future Forza Horizon 6 will make it to PlayStation soon so everyone can enjoy its brilliance.
As always with these reports, they do need to be taken with a grain of salt, however as Xbox expands its reach into other platforms it would make sense to release the game that broke Game Pass records back in November 2021 when it was released.
