While this news doesn't come as a shock, since reliable leaks had already confirmed the game would be set in Japan, and that it was very likely the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 was where the announcement would be made, this is still very exciting news for Forza fans.
Forza Horizon 6 is officially on the Horizon
Forza Horizon 6 will be set in Japan, and the game is scheduled to release in 2026, with an exact date still unknown. The teaser that premiered at the Xbox Tokyo Game Show 2025 showcased all of the locations of previous games in the franchise, ending with a camera panning out to a beautiful view of Mount Fuji.
After years and years of fans begging for a game set in Japan, they will finally see their wish come true and be able to play in one of the most unique and culturally rich places on earth. Japan is also the home of street racing, being one of the biggest hubs of the art, so expect that to be very present in Forza Horizon 6.

Arceta also confirmed that the game will include a variety of scenarios, such as natural and urban environments, Tokyo City, and the traditional and incredibly beautiful Japanese rural and mountain areas. The goal is to be as authentic as possible when recreating Japan's environments and culture, while still making the game feel like a Forza Horizon title.
Japan is a dream setting for Forza Horizon. Fans know that, and so do developers, so there are a plethora of reasons to be excited for this game. Forza Horizon 6 will be one of the most anticipated games of 2026, and hopefully, it can surpass its hype.
