- Quick Answer: Forza Horizon 6 launches on PlayStation 5 on January 26, 2027, with Premium early access from January 21, when the first expansion hits all platforms.
Forza Horizon 6 arrives on PlayStation 5 on January 26, 2027, and its first premium expansion is launching the same week.
Playground Games confirmed both dates on October 8, with the expansion going live on January 21 across Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PS5 at once. That same day kicks off five days of early access for PS5 players who buy the Premium Edition.
The PS5 version is arriving later than first planned. Xbox originally slated it for later in 2026, back when the Japan-set sequel was still months from its May 19 launch on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Forza Horizon 6 went on to pass six million players in its first week.
Forza Horizon 6 Reaches PS5 on January 26, 2027

Panic Button, which ported Forza Horizon 5 to PS5 in April 2025, developed this version "in close collaboration with Playground Games and Turn 10 Studios."
It's coming both digitally and on disc at supporting retailers. Standard and Deluxe Edition owners can start playing on January 26, while Premium Edition owners get in on January 21.
Playground's PS5 FAQ says both dates unlock at 12:01 am local time, except in US territories, where the game goes live everywhere at 12:01 am EST. That puts West Coast players behind the wheel at 9 pm PST the night before.
Anyone who pre-orders an edition or the Premium Upgrade through the PlayStation Store before January 26 gets a pre-tuned Ferrari J50, added to the garage once the prologue is done.
The car has a Japanese connection of its own. Ferrari built only 10 of them to mark 50 years in Japan and unveiled the J50 in Tokyo in 2016.
The First Premium Expansion Arrives on All Platforms January 21

Playground hasn't named the expansion yet, and storefronts list it simply as Expansion 1. The studio's description is brief: it "introduces a new location for players to explore, as well as new gameplay and additional cars to collect."
Where it's set and which cars it adds are still under wraps, with Playground promising more details "closer to availability."
The expansion comes included with the Premium Edition, the Premium Upgrade, and the Expansions Bundle, which costs $49.99 on Xbox and Steam and covers both planned expansions. It isn't part of the Deluxe Edition or the Car Pass.
Playground says it will also sell separately on every platform but hasn't announced a standalone price. On PS5, the expansion goes on sale by itself from January 26, alongside the Car Pass and other add-ons.
Forza Horizon 5 took a different route. Its Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansions launched on Xbox and PC in July 2022 and March 2023, years before that game came to PS5.
PS5 Editions Start at $69.99

The Standard Edition costs $69.99 and includes the base game. The Deluxe Edition, at $99.99, adds the Welcome Pack and Car Pass.
At the top sits the $119.99 Premium Edition, which bundles early access, VIP Membership, the Time Attack and Italian Passion car packs, and both expansions on top of the Deluxe content.
Standard and Deluxe owners can step up later with the $59.99 Premium Upgrade. US pricing matches the Steam version.
Owning the game on Xbox or PC doesn't unlock it on PS5, though, and add-on content has to be bought separately on each platform.
Cross-Play and Cross-Save Link PS5 With Xbox and Steam

PS5 players will share the Horizon Festival with Xbox Series X|S and Steam players through cross-play, and cross-save carries progress between platforms as long as the same Microsoft account is used.
Linking a Microsoft account is mandatory on PS5, and a PlayStation account can only ever be linked to one Microsoft account for this game. PlayStation Plus is needed for online multiplayer only.
EventLab races, prefabs, liveries, tuning setups, and other user-generated content work across all three versions, and leaderboards are shared.
The PS5 release also includes post-launch additions like Drift Attack from day one, with the Festival Playlist running in sync across platforms. Every achievement has a Trophy equivalent, including a Platinum.
Quality and Performance Modes Come to Every PS5

All PS5 models get a Quality mode at 4K and 30fps and a Performance mode at 60fps. Playground hasn't mentioned PS5 Pro enhancements in its announcement or FAQ.
The game supports vibration and trigger effects on DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers, and it can stream to PlayStation Portal through Remote Play.
There's no PS VR2 support, though the game can be played through the headset's Cinematic mode.
A Free Update and a Second Expansion Are Still to Come
Playground says a free content update for all players will arrive alongside the PS5 launch and the first expansion, with "more details about this closer to release."
Expansion 2 is confirmed for the Premium Edition and Expansions Bundle, but it's only listed for "a later date."
In the meantime, the Series 6 Horizon Meets Festival Playlist is live on Xbox and PC, with a 7-Eleven tie-in running through October 27.
PS5 pre-orders are open now on the PlayStation Store, while Xbox and Steam players can get the expansion through the Premium Upgrade or the Expansions Bundle.
