Forza Motorsport is officially on the grid for everyone, but amongst many bugs, glitches, and other issues, players have been reporting a rather strange but annoying visual glitch. Players on Xbox can sometimes have a cursor appear on-screen, distracting them whilst racing and overall being a real pain to remove. So how can you make the cursor disappear in Forza Motorsport?
Cursing the cursor
This glitch only seems to affect Forza Motorsport players on Xbox, but it’s definitely a race-ruiner. Xbox players are reporting having a cursor appear on-screen, blocking their view of the track and potentially stopping players from racing.
The cursor can appear anywhere on the screen. Some players get lucky by having the cursor appear in one of the corners, whereas others have the misfortune of it appearing right in the middle of their screens.
For anyone who’s a seasoned racer, you can see how this would be a problem, but many players have stated that they can’t make this cursor go away. So how can you make this cursor disappear?
How to make the cursor disappear in Forza Motorsport
Before we tell you how to fix this problem, there is one tiny disclaimer. One ‘fix’ won’t always remove the cursor completely. Instead, it moves it to a part of the screen where it’s less of a distraction.
If you need to use this fix, just bear in mind that the cursor won’t be removed completely.
Firstly, if you have any external devices plugged into your Xbox console, try unplugging them. Sometimes your console can detect these devices as being keyboards or mice and will display the cursor on-screen. On the other hand, unplugging actual keyboards and mice can also fix the issue.
If this hasn’t worked, then we need to move the cursor out of the way. The easiest way to do this is to use an Xbox app that requires a cursor. Head into the Edge app on your console, move the cursor as far as you can into one of the corners of your screen, and then head back into Forza Motorsport.
The cursor will still be on-screen, but hopefully now in a location far less distracting. It is possible to make the cursor disappear on Edge, and therefore in Forza Motorsport too, but this doesn’t appear to work for everyone.
Hopefully, this issue will be resolved in the Forza Motorsport day one patch, but for now, you can go racing without an annoying cursor in the way. Unfortunately, that also means that missing your braking point is now entirely your fault!
