Forza Motorsport Removes Progress For Players Using Credit Exploit

With the introduction of the car levelling system, unlocking upgrades in Forza Motorsport takes a long time, forcing players to grind for credits and XP. However, it didnā€™t take long for impatient players to discover an old exploit that lets you get millions of credits in a few minutes.

Unfortunately for them, Turn 10 is clamping down on serial players taking advantage of Forza Motorsportā€™s credit and XP exploit to keep a level playing field.

Turn 10 clamps down on Forza Motorsport players using credit exploit

The exploit stems from a well-known speed glitch in Forza Motorsport 7. Adjusting the gearing, accelerating down the Old Mulsanne Circuit straight, rewinding the game, and resuming the race would cause cars to spin at max speed without input. Using this exploit generated millions of credits in a few minutes.

Players soon discovered that this old glitch also works in Forza Motorsport. Itā€™s also possible to farm credits using automatic assists for steering, accelerating, and braking while leaving the game running. However, players who have been caught cheating may get their progress reset to keep game progress fair for everyone.

In a community message, Turn 10 confirmed that ā€œplayers who excessively used a Forza Motorsport exploit to generate an erroneous amount of credits and Driver Level XP have had their illegitimate progress removed. Turn 10 added that ā€œno further action will be taken,ā€ so players using the exploit wonā€™t be banned.

As a goodwill gesture for the community, all players will receive a free 2020 Audi R8 V10 Performance.

Forza Motorsport Update 3 out today

Presumably, Forza Motorsport's upcoming Update 3 will remove the exploit. Launching later today, Update 3 will add Germanyā€™s Hockenheim to the track roster along with four new Car Pass vehicles: the 2018 Chevrolet #23 Ruman Racing TA Corvette, 1985 Buick #6 Performance Motorsports Somerset Regal Trans-Am, 2021 Cadillac #31 Whelen Racing DPi-V.R, 2018 Lamborghini #63 Squadra Corse HuracĆ”n Super Trofeo Evo, and 1983 Porsche #11 John Fitzpatrick Racing 956.

Most importantly, Update 3 will bring more bug fixes and performance improvements as players are still encountering issues over a month after launch. We'll find out more when the patch notes arrive later today.
