PS5 exclusives have been relatively slow in arriving since the console released in November 2020.

Sure, Destruction AllStars has now arrived in all its glory, but fans are still waiting for the truly huge games.

Advertised heavily in PS5 trailers and upcoming features, Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart now has a release date, which is good news for Gran Turismo 7 fans.

Since publication of this article Sony has announced Gran Turismo 7 will not be launching until at least 2022.

Advertised together...

Sony have been going hard advertising the PS5, even as it remains an elusive machine for many gamers around the world.

In December they released a "New and upcoming games" advert that featured out beloved Gran Turismo as well as Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart.

In the trailer both games were listed as "coming in 2021".

Today Sony revealed that Rachet & Clank: Rift Apart will release on 11 June.

... Launching together?

So does this mean GT7 will release in June too?

Well, maybe. That date is certainly one that sticks in the mind as previous PS5 trailers have shown GT7 to be "coming in first half of 2021", which June just fits into.

COMING IN HOT: Racers everywhere are crying out for news

Fans have been burned before by expecting regular and clear release date news though, so don't get your hopes up too soon!

Is an announcement upcoming?

With Sony giving Ratchet & Clank a four-month run-up to release, if GT7 is going to arrive in June then there should be an announcement sooner rather than later.

A RETURN TO GLORY: Polyphony claim GT7 will be like GT1-4 in style

Sony and Polyphony aren't just going to drop GT7 from the sky on us without any warning, and the four-month build for Ratchet & Clank is a good indication of how long we still have to wait to get our hands on Gran Turismo 7 at long, long last.

Until then we will have to make do with the Daily Races and Time Trials on GT Sport.
