Gran Turismo 7 has been out for more than two years now, and players have been used to regular updates adding new cars, and occasionally new tracks, to the game.

That regular monthly cycle of updates has cooled recently though, and it looks like September will come and go without anything new arriving in GT7.

No September Update?

Gran Turismo 7 updates are usually preceded by a teaser tweet from Kazunori Yamauchi on the weekend before the last Thursday of the month.

Well, that weekend has come and gone, and there's been no teaser. As a result we can safely predict there won't be an update this month. This isn't the first time that Gran Turismo 7 will hit the end of the month without an update, but it is a frustration as August also had no update.

The gentle slowing of updates to a game that is now two and a half years old is understandable, and it may be that Polyphony is working toward a grand update for the PS5 Pro in November.

What's Next For Gran Turismo 7?

We're likely halfway through GT7's life cycle at this point. So there won't be too many big updates left to come.

While many players still want classic circuits like Apricot Hill in the game, that seems unlikely. We could well be entering a very quiet phase for GT7, outside of any potential PS5 Pro updates, and that would be a shame.

There's no game out there quite like GT7. Forza Motorsport certainly has not hit the same heights. Fans are still hungry for new things to do in the game and fresh circuits, tests, and missions to keep them racing on the title.

With other games like Assetto Corsa Evo on the horizon, Polyphony should be trying to keep the spotlight on Gran Turismo 7. They just may have already turned their attention to Gran Turismo 8.
