After update 1.15 rolled out a couple of weeks ago, the next Gran Turismo 7 update (most likely update 1.16) is arriving tomorrow on 9 June.
Server maintenance
An update on the official Gran Turismo website confirms that server maintenance will be performed on 9 June at 07:00 - 09:00 BST and 06:00 - 08:00 UTC. As always, the servers will be offline.
This means only Arcade Race and Music Rally events will be playable during this time as GT7 still frustratingly requires an online connection to play offline single-player content.
What can we expect in Gran Turismo 7 update 1.16?
According to the update post, “Performance Points (PP) requirements for some events may change after this update.” Polyphony advises to “complete any championships within 'World Circuits' that might be on hold before the start of the maintenance.”
Other than that, Polyphony hasn’t said what the update will add. Since the last update recently added the Toyota GR010 Hybrid Le Mans Racer, Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo, and Roadster Shop Rampage, we aren’t expecting any new cars in the next update. Most likely, the next update will focus on quality-of-life improvements and bug fixes.
There are still missing features in GT7 that Kazunori Yamauchi has promised. Back in April, Yamauchi said a future update will add an option to sell garage cars for credits. Two months later, we're still waiting for this long-requested feature. It could finally be implemented in tomorrow’s update.
Update 1.15 also reduced the force feedback strength of the Thrustmaster T-GT, Fanatec Podium, and Fanatec GT DD Pro wheels.
According to Polyphony, this is a temporary fix to reduce the risk of player injury, but the change has been controversial.
Polyphony is working on a fix to resolve this issue, so this could be part of tomorrow’s update. We’ll find out tomorrow when the next GT7 update arrives tomorrow morning.
