Gran Turismo 7 players booting up the game to tackle the new Daily Races will find a new update is required to install. This is a mandatory update if you want to race online, with single-player content also requiring an online connection.
But what does Gran Turismo 7 update 1.39 bring? Let’s take a look at the patch notes to find out.
Gran Turismo 7 update 1.39 fixes Sport Mode glitch
Before you get too excited, GT7’s 1.39 patch doesn't add any new cars, tracks or races. Instead, it’s a hotfix addressing a Sport mode glitch that was causing the game to get stuck on loading screens between matchmaking in Daily Races and Championship races.
There are no other additions, but here are the full patch notes:
Improvements and Adjustments
1. Sport
- Fixed an issue wherein players would encounter an application error or would be stuck on the loading screen between player-matching and qualifying/races in Daily Races and Championship races.
When is the next Gran Turismo 7 content update?
Since 1.39 is a small update, update 1.40 will likely be the next content update. A data miner claims it will be the biggest update yet in response to Forza Motorsport, but Polyphony has yet to announce when it will arrive.
Although there have been gaps before, GT7 content updates usually arrive on the last Thursday of the month. That means we expect Gran Turismo 7 update 1.40 to deploy on Thursday 26 October.
Going on past updates, Kazunori will tease new cars coming in update 1.40 this weekend with a shadowy image on X (formerly known as Twitter).
GT7’s content updates usually contain at least three cars, with last month’s update adding the Garage RCR Civic, Honda Civic Type R (FL5), and Mazda3 GR.4, as well as new GT Café Menu Books and World Circuit single-player events. Recent updates have been lacklustre, to say the least, so we’re hoping 1.40 will be a more substantial update.
We haven’t had any new tracks since Grand Valley returned in February and the Sophy AI still hasn’t been implemented. With stiff competition from Forza Motorsport, GT7’s updates need to step up a gear.
GT7 Daily Races 16 October
