The latest update for Gran Turismo 7, version 1.61, is now available, featuring three new cars across various segments.

This update also brings new racing events, AI improvements, and visual upgrades, making it another solid release from Polyphony Digital.

How Does the NISMO Z-Tune Elevate This Update?

For Gran Turismo veterans and JDM enthusiasts, the undisputed gem of this update is the legendary NISMO R34 GT-R Z-Tune, known as the holy grail of rare cars.

The Z-Tune was created in 2004 to mark NISMO’s 20th anniversary and was built without cutting corners. Just 19 or 20 exist, each one originally a used R34 GT-R that was chosen and rebuilt from scratch.

This engine is a 2.8-liter version of the RB26DETT, producing an output of nearly 500 horsepower.

With carbon fiber, Sachs race-spec dampers, and Brembo brakes, the Z-Tune qualified as a road-legal race car.

It had never been in a Gran Turismo game before, so its debut is a big deal for collectors and longtime fans.

What Else Is in the Garage This Time?

Although the Z-Tune steals the show, the update also includes the Honda N-ONE RS, a modest yet spirited kei car.

This small hatchback features a turbocharged three-cylinder engine with a six-speed manual and front-wheel drive. Honda made the RS version to be quick and responsive, while still holding onto the original N360’s timeless look.

A perfect choice for those who like to find and tune overlooked cars in GT games and then really like them. The update’s third addition is the Nissan Qashqai Tekna e-Power, which focuses on practicality.

It’s a modern compact crossover with Nissan’s e-Power system, where a gas engine charges a battery that powers an electric motor.

This car isn’t for performance or customization, but shows GT7 adding more real, everyday cars people drive now.

It might not handle like a sports car, but its hybrid setup and tall stance give players a new kind of driving challenge.

Where Can You Race the New Cars?

To match the new cars, Update 1.61 also introduces three new World Circuits events.

The Nürburgring Nordschleife welcomes the N-ONE RS in the Lightweight K-Cup, offering a David vs. Goliath experience on one of the world’s most intimidating tracks.

The Alsace Test Course plays host to the Qashqai in the Japanese FF Challenge 450, while the Fuji Speedway becomes the battleground for the turbocharged Z-Tune in a new Race of Turbo Sportscars event.

What’s New with GT Sophy?

Racing AI has improved slightly, and Gran Turismo Sophy can now race players on the High Speed Ring in GT7.

Polyphony is slowly adding Sophy compatibility to more circuits, giving fans a smarter opponent in Quick and Custom Race modes.

Visually, there are two nice additions as well. First, there’s a new featured Scapes location called Lone Pine, giving players another scenic spot for photography.

Second, the Lexus RC F GT3 ’17 in Brand Central now includes the ANEST IWATA Racing 2025 livery, styled after the real-world car driven by Igor Fraga in this year’s Super GT series.
