Gran Turismo 7’s next update arrives tomorrow – what can we expect?

After update 1.11 increased credit rewards following considerable fan backlash, a new Gran Turismo 7 update is arriving tomorrow on 13 April. What can we expect in tomorrow’s Gran Turismo 7 update?

Server maintenance

Announced on the official Gran Turismo website, GT7’s servers will be down for maintenance tomorrow on 13 April from 06:00 - 07:00 BST and 05:00 - 06:00.

During this time, Polyohony will “perform general bug fixes and game update maintenance” on GT7’s servers in preparation for the next game update.

Gran Turismo 7's next update arrives tomorrow

Frustratingly, GT7 still rquires an online connection to access the single player campaign. This means only Arcade Races within World Circuits and Music Rally events will be playable while the servers are down. Online services like Sport mode will not be available and progress will not be saved.

Normally, the servers are only down for maintenance for one hour. Let’s hope we don’t get a repeat of the infmaous update 1.07, which rendered GT7 virtually unplayable for over 30 hours.

What can we expect in the next Gran Turismo 7 update?

Unfortunately, Polyphony has provided no details about what the next GT7 update will bring. We’ll have to wait until tomorrow’s patch notes to find out more.

However, last month Kazunori Yamauchi announced a roadmap detailing changes coming to GT7 in several updates arriving by the end of April.

Will tomorrow's update add the ability to sell cars in Gran Turismo 7?

As well as increasing credit rewards, one of the "near-term updates" changes promised by Kazunori is the ability to sell cars. While you can sell cars in GT Sport, GT7 does not have this option. An option to sell cars could be added in tomorrow’s GT7 update.

This will be a welcome update, as selling unwanted cars will help players earn credits in GT7 without grinding events.

Other updates will also add new cars and tracks by the end of April, some of which could be in tomorrow’s update. Once server maintenance is complete, the next GT7 update will likely deploy tomorrow morning.

It might be worth tempering your expectations, as this could be a minor update with bug fixes. Either way, we’ll find out more about the next GT7 update tomorrow, so stay tuned.
