Hot Wheels Infinite Rush was recently announced by Milestone S.r.l., the developers of SCREAMER, MotoGP 26, and other top racing games.

I had the chance to test a demo version of the game, which will be released on the 24th of September, 2026, for the PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam and Epic.

Without further ado, let's get into it.

A New Era For Hot Wheels Games

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush brings a unique concept to the franchise, introducing an open-world scenario, with players having four action-packed islands to explore.

For the demo, I had access to one of those islands, and I must say I was surprised by the number of activities the island provided.

You can participate in plenty of different challenges, such as drift, destruction, and time trials, among others.

There are many races, with significantly different stipulations for you to participate in, and every one of them demands a unique approach if you want to win.

The open world is not just a place you use to go from challenge to challenge, as there are many areas to explore and stunts to perform.

The game incentivizes you to explore the island, from the green parks and resorts to the urbanized city, but you can do it at your own pace.

If you prefer to head straight to the races and test your skills in different race formats, you can do so.

However, if you are in the mood to drive around and drift across the beautiful island landscapes, you can also do it.

A Great Experience For Casual and Competitive Players Alike

Hot Wheels Infinite Rush has an incredibly rich garage, with over 150+ vehicles waiting to be collected.

You can earn these vehicles by completing challenges, objectives, and special events.

But that's not all; a few vehicles can only be claimed by defeating the Rush Master.

Every Island has its own Rush Master, which acts as a sort of leader, and you can only challenge him after you complete certain events.

In the demo, the Rush Master was already unlocked, so I don't know how much time and effort it will take to unlock it once the full game releases.

However, I can tell you that beating him isn't going to be easy. It's by far the challenge I struggle with the most.

The other races were fairly easy, but beating the Rush Master took a toll on my controller. I had access to the best cars in the game, as all vehicles were unlocked. I can only imagine how hard it will be when that's not the case.

It's here that Hot Wheels Infinite Rush excels. If you want a more competitive approach, you can focus on beating the challenges until you ultimately unlock the Rush Master quest.

However, you can also race around the city or fill your car collection by completing more accessible challenges and events.

The Track Builder will be in the game, significantly improved from the previous iteration, so you can put your genius to work and create some of the most astonishing tracks in Hot Wheels history.

There are many ways to experience the game, and it's up to you to choose how you want to do it.

Exciting Arcade Gameplay With Skill Gap

The Hot Wheels Infinite Rush gameplay is incredibly fun; that's the best way to describe it.

First, vehicles are separated into four types: Versatiles, Titans, Drifters, and Speeders. They handle and feel vastly different, and they also each race in a unique way.

I had the most fun with drifter cars, but even among cars from the same type, the handling is different, making it so no two cars race alike.

The differences between car types are also clearly visible. Speeders reach a much higher speed than any class in the game. However, drifting with them is hard and not as satisfactory as it is with drifters.

Versatiles can do a little bit of everything, and they felt like the easiest cars to get used to. As for Titans, well they the name says it all.

No matter the car type you are using, racing in Hot Wheels Infinite Rush is very fun. It delivers one of the best arcade gameplay experiences I have had as of recently.

The races are fun and chaotic, but there are strategic elements to them. Knowing when to use your boost, making the curves at the right time, avoiding obstacles, and catching the different boosts you have along the tracks ensures there is a skill gap element in the gameplay.

All in all, the Hot Wheels Infinite Rush demo showcased a game full of content, with addictive gameplay, no performance issues, and a new take on the franchise.

Hot Wheels fans will love this game, and non-fans will too.
