Gran Turismo 7 has some of the best customisation options we've ever seen in a racing game. Almost all aspects of your cars can be changed, including how much power the engine outputs.
How do you alter this though? Here's our tutorial!
Fitting the right part
Every car we've come across can have its power output altered in Gran Turismo 7. Any car that can have the Power Restrictor fitted, anyway.
To buy the Power Restrictor, you need to head over to the Tuning Shop, which is at the bottom of the GT World menu. The Power Restrictor can be found in the Club Sports section of the Tuning Shop.
From there, select the part and apply it to your current car (for around 600 credits).
Applying the Power Restrictor
Once you've purchased the Power Restrictor, you'll need to use it. To do so, head over to the Garage and select Car Settings.
On the right of the screen, you'll see the Performance Adjustment section. Go over to Power Restrictor and select this option.
You'll then be asked how much horsepower you want the engine to produce. There are a few reasons to do this, but the main one is to get your Performance Point (PP) rating down.
This is usually because the event you're wanting to enter will have a PP limit. A good way to reduce the car's PP without hugely reducing its performance is to turn the engine down.
