Gran Turismo is known for it's impressive graphics on console, smooth gameplay and car choice.
One interesting feature of the game is drifting, often necessary for completing Drift Trials.
So, let's take a look at how you too can drift like a pro in Gran Turismo!
Starting a drift
This stage is known as the initiation, and refers to the moment that the driver kicks off their drift.
To do so on Gran Turismo, you simply need to point the front of your car towards the corner, tap the brake and then the hand brake.
This should force the rear-end of the car to squirrel out, and if you're approaching at the correct angle, start a slide in the right direction.
Holding the drift
To hold the drift, there are two main factors that you need to take into consideration. Firstly, the front and the back of the car do different things.
The front controls the angle of the drift, whilst the rear controls how long it lasts for.
As such, to hold a drift, you need to maintain the accelerator and the counter-steer to keep the car sideways. Every car and track is different for this, so have a play around and keep practicing!
Ending your drift & setup
This is quite simple really, as you effectively do the opposite of what you were doing to maintain it.

Simply put, take some throttle off and start to move your steering angle back towards the centre of the car. This should leave you coming out of the corner in a nice straight line.
For the drifting itself, we always recommend going with the tyres that offer the least grip. Using manual transmission also helps, as this means you can hold the gear and the high revs through corners, helping you maintain that drift.
Gran Turismo 7
Unfortunately for us, as fans of the franchise, our beloved GT7 has been delayed.
With the game now launching in 2022 rather than this year, we have plenty of time to wait also.
Still, we're sure the title will be a smash hit when it does launch!
