Indie racer Inertial Drift: Twilight Edition has suffered a last-minute delay, publisher PQube has announced.
Inertial Drift: Twilight Rivals Edition delayed until November
Originally set for release today, 20 October, Inertial Drift: Twilight Rivals Edition and the Inertial Drift Twilight Rivals Pack have been delayed until 15 November. According to PQube, this is due to certification issues with submitting the game to Sony.
“Due to certification issues, we have to delay the release of Inertial Drift: Twilight Rivals Edition and Inertial Drift Twilight Rivals Pack to the 15th of November, PQube wrote on Twitter.
“We're sorry and we know you are looking forward to the new content. Thank you for your patience.”
Conversely, however, the physical PS5 edition is currently available to order from retailers like Amazon.
Inertial Drift was originally released in 2020 for PS4 and PC. Heavily inspired by Ridge Racer Type 4, the stylish indie racer features a unique twin-stick control scheme for drifting, with the left stick controlling steering while the right stick adjusts the angle of the drift.
The Twilight Rivals Edition includes a new challenging story mode based on a gang of drift racers known as the Twilight Rivals, along with 24 cars and 14 tracks.
For existing owners of Inertial Drift on PS4 and PC, this content will also be included in the Twilight Rivals Pack DLC.
On PS5, the Twilight Rivals Edition will benefit from a higher 4K resolution and a smooth 120fps performance mode that will make drifting feel even more satisfying.
Release date
Inertial Drift: Twilight Rivals Edition is sliding onto PS5 on 15 November. The Twilight Rivals Pack will also be released for PS4 and PC on 15 November.
