Is Mario Kart Tour against bots?

A new Tour has arrived in Mario Kart Tour, bringing with it some awesome new content and even a new track!

The game is an awesome experience for rookie and veteran Mario Kart players alike, and you can play the game for free.

However, as far as multiplayer goes, things can be a little confusing. Let's take a look at bots and real players in Mairo Kart Tour!

Bots in Mario Kart Tour

Mario Kart Tour launched with a multiplayer experience included from launch. However, despite being branded as ‘multiplayer’, the races were just populated with bots.

WAYS TO PLAY: Mario Kart Tour is more than just karting!

This led many to start calling the game fake, as multiplayer on launch was simply branded a scam, with no real players and races of bots.

It’s easy to see why some new players could still think this applies. However, don't worry, these bots are few and far between now.

Friends vs Bots

Now, in 2021, Mario Kart Tour is a well populated online multiplayer game with plenty of players. That makes bots far rarer.

However, if certain races don't fill, then bots will be used to fill a lobby. In fact, with many players choosing to cheat or hack instead, some real-players are in fact AFK and using a hack to race instead.

Likewise, if you're choosing to race offline, then of course, you'll be racing against bots.
