Is Ride 5 open world? While the Ride series hasn't been an open-world video game in the past, Ride 5 could buck that trend. Ride 5 has a number of new features that it's bringing to the table, but is an open world one of them?
Games such as Grand Theft Auto are famous for their open-world sandbox experiences. Even racing game series have been born out of the desire to explore, such as The Crew and Forza Horizon.
So, with that in mind, here's everything you need to know about an open world in Ride 5!
Is Ride 5 open world?
Ride 5's biggest new feature is its Career Mode, something that the series never had before. While there have been progression systems in the past, there hasn't been anything in Ride like this before!
But what about a potential open-world environment to ride your bikes around when you don't feel like racing?
Unfortunately for the gamers that want this, Ride 5 isn't open-world at launch. While it's not impossible to be added later via a DLC or update, this is a huge game mechanic, so it's unlikely.
Ride 5 certainly isn't lacking content, though. There are more circuits to race on and more bikes to ride than ever in Ride 5!
What about other games?
So, while Ride 5 doesn't have an open world to ride around, some other games on the market do have this mechanic. The shining example of this on two wheels is TT Isle of Man Ride on the Edge 3.
This thrilling title allows you to roam around the Isle of Man's roads and explore what is one of the most beautiful areas of the British Isles.
Ride 5 doesn't have a proper setting, so where it could set an open world up isn't clear. However, like The Crew and Forza Horizon, it could choose anywhere in the world to base it on.
It's unlikely that Milestone will add this, however, as it would require a lot of time and effort. Bike lovers have an alternative open-world bike racer with the new Isle of Man game.
