Is Rocket League a free download?

Rocket League is arguably one of the most addictive online multiplayer games ever made. With the Lucky Lanterns event likely to return early this year and Season Six expected to land soon, there are plenty of reasons to keep playing Rocket League this year.

Psyonixā€™s phenomenally popular car football game is on a range of platforms including PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch. But is Rocket League a free download?

Is Rocket League a free download?

One of the reasons why Rocket League is still so popular is that itā€™s free-to-play across all platforms. But it wasnā€™t always a free download.

When it launched in July 2015 on PS4, Rocket League was a free PlayStation Plus game. This was a smart move as it introduced millions of players to Rocket League, and itā€™s been a staple of online multiplayer ever since.
