When it launched in July 2015 on PS4, Rocket League was a free PlayStation Plus game. This was a smart move as it introduced millions of players to Rocket League, and itās been a staple of online multiplayer ever since.
After July 2015, Rocket League cost Ā£15.99 on the PlayStation store. It was then ported to PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
However, as of September 2020, Rocket League is free-to-play on all platforms following the acquisition of Psyonix by Epic Games.
How do I download Rocket League for free?
Rocket League can be downloaded for free by visiting the PlayStation Store, Xbox Games Store, Nintendo eShop, and Epic Games Store depending on your platform. A mobile spin-off called Rocket League Sideswipe is also free-to-play.
Credits
While Rocket League is free to download, you can also buy in-game Credits. Available bundles range from 500 Credits (Ā£3.75) to 6500 Credits (Ā£37.50). These credits can be used to buy cosmetic items in the Item Shop such as wheels, decals, and rocket boosts.
